Being an "artist" you can get drum companies to make basically whatever you want. WISH us normals had the same access. This kit is nuts! I wonder if they're the true old vistalites with seams, or the newer RCI molded shells

I thought that the newer RCI shells still have the seams? Are they extruded seamless shells now?

@@vegadeth I haven't checked in a few yeas but RCI shells were always injection-molded acrylic. Could have changed? BUT I'm not sure why as that is one of their biggest selling points. no weak spots, or seams etc.

They DID change it. DAMMIT! cheaper that way for sure. That's VERY unfortunate :( BUT " All seams are acrylic welded and sealed (Engineered at RCI International Patent Pending). These shells do not have a support tab or thin strip of plastic holding the seam together." That's better than the old style vistas; much better still

@@DerekFrampton a welded seam is still a seam. I promise you that the newer style welded seam is better than the older version that had the reinforced seam. The tone is better. Those older versions sometimes had buzzing issues

@@vegadeth The welded seam is superior to the piece holding the seems together like the old style. I thought they were injection molded but I think they've always been welded seams, and DW, TAMA, PEARL and other smaller drum boutiques all use RCI shells last I heard and they're all amazing kits. the shell is more likely to crack elsewhere other than the welds on the seam for sure at least in the testing that's been done that I researched. Good stuff. and the buzzing issues on the original 70's Vista's and such were due to all the vibration going to the weakest point on the shell, the non-welded seam, which is no longer a problem. She said vibe.. meaning she sound she can't really have an actual one playing stadiums but she can get the vibe of one from a smaller kit. She plays a 24" bass drum ffs. She has a huge sounding kit. Educate yourself
