Thanks for bringing back some great memories. I learnt to fish all over Redcliffe having grown up there until I finally left at about 24 (i`m 47 now). I did an article for bush and beach (I was the Redcliffe reporter for about 3 years until I moved on), on catching bream on hard bodies around "The Wells" before all the hype happened. I was living in a little caravan right beside Hayes Inlet. I still recon I know every rock on the whole peninsular ! Might give you a shout out one day and come for a fish back there again. Cheers again for the memories.

Wayne … can you advise me please … I have a samurai infinite 2-4 lb rated rod and paired with a Daiwa certate 2500d .. firstly is this combo out of balance and secondly … I’d like to run 6lb monofilament on this reel .. is this going to be ok or am I throwing everything out of whack ? I not a lover of braid .. and 4lb seem a little under done .. so I’m hoping 6lb quality mono will be ok … Just throwing some small plastics and use outfit for bait fish at times .. looking forward to your input .. thanks again Wayne .. your KZbin clips brings much joy to me … Mel savage 🙏

Tried the pilons. Bites but only small fish. Nothing big enough to eat

It’s one of my favorite places so I suggest you give it another shot.

You know how much I like your vids. I would have ate that 68cm flatty though😁. Such a good fish to chew on. Next fav is Grunta, any tips to catch em? Ive only been lucky on yabbies or live herring. They hit like a frieght train and taste sooo good
@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing4 жыл бұрын
Bribie passage is loaded with grunta. They can be very frustrating when chasing whiting.

What is the best bait for the channel closest to the Clontarf side?
@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing3 жыл бұрын
The best bait will depend on your target species. Winter pillies and mullet for snapper and tailor.

Best tide for Hayes inlet?
@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing2 жыл бұрын
The last 3 hours of the run out and the first 2 hours of the run in. Flathead, bream and shovel nose.

Hey Wayne, are there any yabbies along there at low tide to pump for?
@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing5 жыл бұрын
2bnvsfishing there is a very small patch but not worth it. Go the wrigglers. Better bait and way easier to get
@2bnvsfishing5 жыл бұрын
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing thanks mate. Was just keen to take my young daughter out for some yabbies, might just head up to bribie if thats the better/closest option.

gday, what's the best height to go for low tide?
@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing4 жыл бұрын
The new and full moon lows.
@shuheilawson14334 жыл бұрын
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing sorry how do you mean by that? Could you explain in detail please?
@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing4 жыл бұрын
@@shuheilawson1433 as you read a tide chart you will notice that the lows and highs are lower and higher on the full and no moons. The mid moon phase has less movement and range between high and low.
