Question, I have a heat pump that I programmed in the Omni PL but It doesn’t seem to be communicating with the automation. It’s wired into the LV1 one spot inside the panel, but I don’t see anything wired directly into a relay. Does the heater need to be on a relay or is the low volt wired into the LV1 Considered a relay?

Heater should be wired to the Low voltage terminal not any LV

I have the same panel but a pentair mastertemp 400 heater. Heater works fine as does the panel but I can’t control the heater with the omnilogic. I can’t seem to figure it out. Any advice?
@EliteSwimmingPoolsTV2 жыл бұрын
Is your MasterTemp Heater connected with the communication wire plugged into the control board of the heater and connected into the Automation panel? This wire is needed and connected in the correct point. It’s a simple insulated 2 wire low voltage wire.

Hi, I have an Haywaed OmniLogic automatic system and I'm having trouble with the pool light system. After installing the Hayward transformer and connecting them to my Color logic led 1.5 hayward 14 volt ( blue wire), my lights flash like a stroke when I turn them off, every 30 seconds. I download new firmware R03.2.0 2019 version and reprogram my omnidirectional feature in both settings ( activate and deactivate ), without any success. Is it anything else I can do? Is it possible that you do a KZbin video in how to result this problem. Waiting for your response. Enrique

It’s possible your lights may either have a issue themselves or some electrical connection is not proper. I would contact Hayward Technical support or hire a local pool company to check this out for you.

Can you add both a gas heater and a heat pump/chiller to the omnilogic?
@EliteSwimmingPoolsTV2 жыл бұрын
You probably would have to wire the gas heater to the solar heater connections if unto does not have a dedicated gas heater wire connection point and wire the heat pump to its normal wiring connection point. You may want to confirm this with Hayward Customer Support

I appreciate your videos! I installed this same panel last June with the 2-plug receptacle on the side. Is it possible to wire that receptacle to a relay and control it by the app? If so, do you have any info or videos on that? Thank you for all your time and information you put into this. John

I wouldn’t see why you couldn’t wire a 120v receptacle to a relay (given that you have the space for another relay and the main board is capable of handling how ever many total relays the panel has wired). Take the Line side (hot wire) that would be coming into plug re-route to relay Line IN and Line OUT to plug IN. Leave Common wire on common bar. Label that relay with customers label (ex. Receptacle) and when ever you want to utilize that plug then you activate it on the app. All your simply doing is rerouting the wires to go through a relay in order to activate and power that plug when you want power present, not sure why you would want this unless your utilizing these plug for a landscape lighting. If so you can cut the lug part off the lighting transformers power cable and run it into panel direct to relay same you would any other piece of equipment and leave external plug power present all time for when ever you need to plug something in and get instant power, instead of having to go into app and tune on the relay to power plug. Good luck. 👍🏼

@@EliteSwimmingPoolsTV The plug outlets are being used for rope lighting for the palm trees. The lighting is about 80 feet away and the thought of the convenience of not having to go back around the pool equipment to plug it in to turn it on sounds a lot easier. Unless you have any other suggestions. Thank you!
@EliteSwimmingPoolsTV3 жыл бұрын
So being that the trees to be lit is 80 ft away, are you running an extension cord to the tree and then stringing the lights in the tree? Are you suspending the rope light in the air to the tree? How are you running the power to tree? Is your lights a low voltage (12v) and lighting system has a transformer to step down power or high voltage (120v)?

@@EliteSwimmingPoolsTV They plug right into the receptacle that is installed on the side of the Omni Logic panel.

If this was my house, i would wire a circuit to an open relay inside the panel & label this Landscape lighting. I would dig a trench from the panel to the tree(s) I am wanting to light, run electrical conduit underground feed the 120v circuit line through it and install a electrical weather proof junction box at the base of the tree(s) with a receptacle. That way I can also put a bullet style light shining on the tree and have the rope light up in the tree. Having the receptacle at the tree also gives you power out in the yard for other projects or decoration for parties / Christmas blow ups or any other things you may need out there. With this wired to the panel on the relay you can operate that circuit via mobile phone. This is how I would do it. Good luck. 👍🏼🍀

I just set up my first OmniLogic. I have the heater wired up through the breaker. Can I bypass the relay and wire it to the low voltage heater output. That should be the form of communication used right?

I have Hayward OmniLogic with a heater/chiller, but can only control the heater and cannot figure out how to switch to activate the chiller - It's over 100 degrees F in Texas and my pool is getting up to 94 degrees F, so I really need to get the chiller set and running. Please help!

FWIW< I have the same issue also in Texas. I have the HP50951T heater, but there is a newer HP50952T heater that has extra wiring to support both the heating and chilling. I have not had good luck with Hayward support, but I did finally get a local company to agree to come look at it. HE commented that I needed to add one more wire, but I think it gets wired to a COM bus instead of the LV heater controls, but I'd be guessing so hoping they can help me.

Your issue is a programming problem either coming from when the heater was initially programmed to the automation system. First try to go through the program and delete that you have a heater and save it. Then go back in through the program and add a new heater and check if I ask you if the heater has the chill option. I don’t recall if the OmniLogic has the specific program setting. Also, make sure that you’re heater itself has the chill option enabled. I’ve seen on some Hayward heater units that have the chill option, they have to be enabled. Most of the time the heaters from factory come set in heat only mode. you could also always call Hayward technical support and they surely will assist you with your specific situation thanks for watching a commenting.

i wired my gas heater to my omni and it's in remote mode and you can see it turn on and off based on the omni setting, but it never changes the temp up and down. so even though the omni turns it on, it always says 79F for the set point (the last temp set before changing to remote mode).
@EliteSwimmingPoolsTV2 жыл бұрын
Is your gas heater programmed and switched to t-Stat remote mode? the heater settings must be switched to this mode. This mode indicates the heater will be controlled by automation controller. Also in your Omni you have to make sure it’s wired to the correct relay and that it’s programmed to that relay. Also you have to make sure that when make these changes in the Omni that you are properly saving it (there is a specific way to save these settings in the Omni). On the heater, try this… go into the settings and disable the remote mode (put it back to operate by its own controller) once this is done, go into the temp settings and raise it all the way up to 104^. Then go back into settings and change back to T-Stat remote mode. Let me know if this works.

@@EliteSwimmingPoolsTV My gas heater is a rheem (raypak) and all it says on it is to hold the 2 temp buttons for 5 seconds until it goes into remote mode, which is what I did. I have the omni hub, so there is only 1 place to connect a 2 wire heater remote control wire. I tried swapping the two wires and it does the same thing. Although, I realize now as I re-read your reply, the 2 wire is just a simple on/off? No wonder then it's not changing the temp. So basically the heater needs to be at max temp so that when that wire triggers it to turn on, it's hot enough to run. I think I get it now. I will change to 87F (since i never want it to get above that if something goes wrong) and then turn remote mode back on. Thanks much!!!
