I feel ya, at the end eddie and alex could take it even longer....and the tune still would have kept soaring, rock n roll and van halen all in the same breath...just flat out awsome...2days music...can't hold a candle to it

When people say Ed’s guitar work peaked at Fair Warning 🤪 He just keeps growing and keeping his chops up (as he says) while trying new things and chasing tone.

No, these were his best days in my opinion. Later, he was too fucked up.
@cookie-pb3eu2 жыл бұрын
With the exception of fair warning, his riffs and solos became consistently more melodic, catchy and he played around with the timing and rhythm alot more during van hagar years. During early van Halen the guitar especially the riffs tended to be formulaic and somewhat simple and predictable. I prefer the mature guitar composition of van Hagar but also prefer the darker rockier feel of earlier van Halen.

I've seen Van Halen live back in 1981-82' and as much as I love the original line up live........Dave was drunk before the show even started and was chugging Jack Daniels on stage like it was Iced Tea ! He forgot the lyrics to more songs than he remembered ! Van Halen live with Sammy is a whole different show ! These guys where right in the groove and Sammy was always at least sober enough to not butcher the lyrics ! The highlight of Van Halen live with DLR was all the extended guitar solos Eddie improvised because of Dave's screw ups ! Again ......the original line up was unreal in the studio ! Van Halen with Sammy out front was the better lineup live !

The answer to the 'Enigma" of life is not the " Bible Code', or the 'Da Vinci Code', it's 'Music'... 'Past', 'Present', and 'Future', the lyrics hold all of the answers. It is right in front of us and all around us. It's the words from the prophets,('God'), and even Lucifer, himself, however... Even though Lucifer, and his Minions,(the third of 'God's' Angels that came to Earth with Lucifer), are 'Collective' and 'Omnipresent', fear not!, because, 'God' made Lucifer. Lucifer was defeated once when he was thrown down from 'Heaven'. Defeated twice when 'Jesus' walked out of the grave,and, 'Third Time is a Charm', when 'Jesus' comes back...😊

Sorry in advance, but the Hagar years pushed everyone in the band to play better! Roth years were good, but Sammy took Van Halen to the STRATOSPHERE!!! Eddie was at his absolute EPIC PEAK in those first 4 albums with Hagar. If you can’t see that, then you’re being intellectually dishonest! The music was legendary and Hagar did something Roth NEVER could, give them number 1 albums! I’ll just leave all this right here. 🎤 drop!
