One of the biggest differences between Ron and other Towing channels on KZbin, is that Ron has a lot more certifications. You don't normally seeing towing guys doing hazmat recoveries with masks and scooba tanks for air. And Ron has talked about his higher level of certifications, just didn't elaborate into specifics on each one. Otherwise, he would never have been allowed to be even close to the wreck with the fire department if he didn't.

Hazmat training hazmat training hazmat training hazmat training starting in 1975 when I went to the Coast Guard when I got out of the Coast Guard I had a captain's license hazmat training certificate valid for 2 years. Every two years of my life hazmat certificate deep sea merchant sailor has that training and cbrd training; biological radioactive for some reason the 67 years of age I forget what the d stands for civilian ships go into war zones Retired from running around on ships and though I did not do the hazardous cargos had to get that little card thing hazmat training so I can legally drive the big rigs. firefighting schools guess what hazmat training the average person in the house has an average of six different chemicals if they get mixed up together are quite deadly particularly when there is a fire. You mix Clorox and 409 in the same container and it starts producing a form of cyanide gas. Vapors in a 5 gallon container of gasoline of just one ounce of gasoline you may have stashed at your house has an explosive equivalency of a 50 lb case of 80% Dynamite. The D in cbrd stands for decontamination the of the ship with fire hoses while wearing SCBA and chemical suits. Where are you folks that were military veterans in the Gulf wars m r e heaters you add water to them to make them heat your food. When they are stowed in the holes of a ship and are decomposing which is a natural process they start producing hydrogen gas and hydrogen gas is highly explosive Hindenburg airship it blowed up real good. So is the ship is taken to the army Depot Chicago on loaded and all those MRE heaters that you have on board in a prepositioning ship refrigerated containers with big stickers on the side of them that says do not add water in a firefighting situation. 110,000 fit into a 20 ft shipping container now the chief engineer everyday has to check those containers for hazardous gases and temperature well we got the container off the safely. At a Navy more from the island of Guam and they were unloading the container which was producing smoke by this time and there was a little explosion and flames shot out of the container the forklift operator jumped off and 16 hours later the container burnt to the ground was destroyed. Yep been there done that.

We had our own fire department that my group worked with a good amount of time, we also had our own ambulance too !! I think that's awesome that the Fire Department and police know you well. We had well known contacts with our tow/recovery contract when I was a fireman. Had a hazmat call years ago, tanker roll over on the interstate, leaking from the caps. But wasn't punctured. Threw down oil dry and just sat there. 6000 gallons of Reprocessed Fuel Oil was in the tank. The recovery guys show up with 2 rotators wanting to lift the tank rightside up while it was still loaded. My captain and Emergency Management both said pretty much "not till it's unloaded. We don't want to risk anything happening" I've had to wear an SCBA several times. They are not comfortable having to work in. And to the people who are curious about how hectic the scene is and lots of noises. That's how it is. But it's all about the teamwork.

I wonder if part 2 will end with "We came; we saw; we kicked it's as*."😁 Would have been interesting to see the trailer being separated from the unit but I guess there's times when safety/concentration take priority over filming. It looked like the trailer's hitch mechanism had been completely removed. I'm guessing you couldn't burn it off; do they just unbolt? Looking forward to part 2. Some daylight should help a bit. The scene looks pretty well lit up but things usually look better in daylight. Cheers for now, Dougie.
