I can now see more of where the 500 dollar price tag comes from.. the engineering design and product. With a hint of greed in some aspects but it all makes sense. This speaker undoubtedly has its position in the speaker matrix.

Been using mine for about 2 years and it's as good as it gets for waterproof capability and sound. It's Aril of '24 and I used mine on a river last year in August. My speaker ended up fully submerged at multiple points while not using it and it still performs flawlessly. Dont ever intentionally submerge a speaker no matter what the waterproof rating is though lol.

The JBL Boombox 3 could have been such a great device IF the AUX-port had no latency - which would have made it possible to connect a keyboard, synth, dj-deck or any other type of 3.5-plugable instrument for instans realtime-Sound. But the AUX-signal runs through the motherboard, the Sound Will be prosssed there, which causes the latency… Older JBL speakers had bo latency issue… and speakers like the PartyBox 110 are not as portable as the Boombox 3 ..and have no stereo sound. I was watching this video, to find out if I could connect the AUX port directly to the circuits which goes to the speakers, but as far as I can see everything needs to go through the motherboard/computer… So the only alternative in this 3-way-class of speaker like the Boombox 3, is the W-King X20, which has a aux and instrumental port. I need to check that one out.. but I would prefer to have this connections on a Boombox 3, as the sound just is sooo good! 😕

Agreed!
@kalleklp7291 Жыл бұрын
It's even easier to take the PartyBox 200 and 300 series apart. No hot glue snot all over the place but real seals and quality parts. I bought a used PB 200 two years ago and the only difference to the others (except 710 and 1000) is there is no battery pack. It can easily be modified, however. So I mounted a flip-up handle and two small wheels for convenience, the 300 and 310 have these features from the factory. I love how they make their things repairable if need should be. My over 30 years old LT 100 are still going strong...won't change them for anything else.

These are pretty big Magnets for the Midrange Speaker.
@HBV902 жыл бұрын
Yes they are.
@wally7856 Жыл бұрын
Those midrange's have "bucking magnets" added below the regular magnet. They are the round donut shaped magnets stuck/glued on top of the regular magnet. The purpose of bucking magnets is to squash any stray magnetic field so it doesn't affect nearby magnetic sensitive objects. This is peculiar because the subwoofer doesn't have any bucking magnets so stray magnetic fields are present from the subwoofer anyways. Bucking magnets are primarily used for speakers around old CRT televisions as magnetic fields would affect the electron beams and distort the picture. This tells me those mids are some very old stock drivers from the time of CRT's. Not unusual in the driver business as there are warehouses full of production overruns of various drivers over the years. Odd because they would add a pound or 2 of weight to the package and for a portable speaker extra weight isn't usually a good thing unless you just want it to "feel" like a higher end product. JBL must of got a good deal on them to use them. They could be removed just by prying them off with a screwdriver and won't affect the performance of the driver itself, save yourself the weight.
