How can this engine handle going above 50000 RPM?

The kv rating is unloaded. I don’t know the rpm it is at under load but probably isn’t much above 50,000. Also, the batteries will have voltage sag under high load. So the 12.6v quickly become high 11v range or possibly lower like mid 11v. I wish I knew the actual rom though.

@@rush338 I think that may be pushing a 45 amp hard! If I remember right the motor can pull over 60A! Edit - 88 amps according to the manufacturer. www.amazon.com/KingVal-Replacement-2845-5900KV-3-175mm/dp/B0BGHZWHZ9 I guess my HBX truck is fairly light which helps.

That motor should make less torque, but spin faster… So it should be pretty close I would think but it’s hard to say for sure. It probably will run even hotter, however. I would definitely get a heat sink/cooling fan combination if you’re gonna run that or even the combination I’m running. Surpass hobby makes a really nice one! I just haven’t been able to test it to make sure it fits.

The slash weighs a lot, I would go with a bigger motor and ESC…. Like in my Traxxas Bandit videos. That combo is too small!

@@inhhung1643 I had no issues at all with my 60A HW ESC. The motor will get hot before the ESC does and especially when warm out you will need to give that motor a chance to cool off every several minutes. I was considering running the Surpass Hobby cooling fan setup but never got around to it.

@@inhhung1643 I would run a lower KV set up if you plan on doing general running on 3S. The 5900kv is best for just for a few minutes of quick speed running and it drains 850 mAh LIPOs quickly.
