Get the manual out and read about pairing the remote. The remote needs to be "told" what to work with and pairing will handle it. The remote will work over a very long distance. The app is a mess and I have found 3 places to download it. I can get into the unit and control it. My only problem with the app is that I cannot get into the settings section. This is a great heater with the ability to actually have it set to a temperature and it will shut down completely. Then when it drops 2*C below that temp, it will actually restart. It is also one of the first that can be changed on the control panel from "C" to "F". That silly voice can be spoken in English, Russian and German... Or... shut off totally. I turned mine off. I have 4 of Hcalory's heaters and this is, by far, the best of the bunch.

What would suggest for a 12v cable replacement?

I love these things. I mix used motor oil with the diesel for semi free heat in the garage. Mine are not "suitcase" units, the tank and fuel pump are separate. One is 6 years old now and still works great. They are very safe because diesel is not flammable by itself, and no carbon monoxide. I dont see the appeal of it being all in one though. For a truck ideally youd plumb it to the tank and hook the exhaust outside just as i did my garage.

How is the battery in the remote? Sometimes those things are questionable before they even leave the factory.

Well, it is quiet. I'm pretty sure the exhaust is supposed to be routed outside if the machine is in the garage. I wonder if the white foam you left inside is blocking the IR detector for the remote? ☮ brother.

If I remember correctly some of these remotes has to be bind with the heater it won't work straight out of box I have a couple of these heaters I've had really good luck with them I have mine set up on a Honeywell thermostat it will turn the heater on and off when it reaches temperature

I have this heater in my cargo trailer. The heater is inside protected from the elements as it appears to be designed. I vent the exhaust thru a bulkhead stainless vent in the wall of my trailer. The heater has worked flawlessly the remote works great and the app works fine as as well. My power supply is 2000 watt inverter connected to 2 100 AH lead acid batteries with 2 100 watt solar panels on the roof of my trailer. As far as the plug controversy I don't get it. If you mix up the plug with a computer plug or whatever you probably should not be handling anything mechanical anyway. Durability to be determined. This isn't rocket science just a bit of common sense will suffice.

They usually work just fine if you put batteries in them,which are not supplied

If the power supply connection can be plugged in to mains the research into the possible thermal run away has not even crossed the designers mind.

I think that is a catalyst and not a silencer. The smoke died down once it heated up.

No its not a catalyst, its just a hollow muffler that quiets it down a bit.

great stuff! the gadgetry doesn't work, and the diesel heater needs electricity to run 😅oh well, I guess it does come in handy if you want to kill your whole family in one go with exhaust fumes🤣

It's diesel .there is no carbon monoxide. Ok it's not the best to breath but it certainly will not kill anyone. The exhaust port is meant to be ported outside anyway

The exhaust tube is to be directed outside of the building/vehicle. So no fumes are inside.

It's like I said to xraytonyb about one of his persistent trolls: if he really wanted to know and learn, he'd be asking the all-important question, "Why?" instead of complaining.
