Wont hcg suppress fsh over time, as well as possibly causing desensitisation to the effects of LH stimulation that hcg causes, which would make a fertility protocol harder down the line?

I just saw a graph showing a 150 iu injection of hcg peaking at 8 hours and returning to baseline at 24 hours. If that’s the case then why wouldn’t you inject the hcg at night like 8 hours before your normal wake up time so it’s peaking then? Isn’t the morning when testosterone is at its peak?

If your doctor is ok with microdosaging TRT (starting out very slowly with say 6 mg per day), but is not willing to prescribe HCG, would you still go through with starting the TRT until I find an experienced provider who is willing to add in the HCG? OR would you just wait until you find that new provider? I have some autoimmune issues from underlying issues and the doctor feels HCG could make it worse "because it acts like TSH and stimulates the thyroid gland to produce more hormone. " I am not sure this really makes sense to be honest.

Are you saying that 500 IUs a week aren't going to work? I started Nebido two weeks ago, earlier today I had an argument with my endocrinologist and she flat out refused to put me on HCG saying that the standard treatment is testosterone only. I got the HCG on my own and injected 500 but now you make me wonder.

Hi, would HCG benefit a man who already has lower sperm production (20 million). We had a baby 5 years ago using IVF and ICSI. We are looking at doing it again, but i am now also starting to use testosterone and the HCG is very interesting. I wonder if we should have tried HCG first before doing the IVF. Its a cheaper option and i am sure the clinic would loose a customer if they sent us away with a few injections only. My FSH was always top of the range at 12. Would HCG have much effect here on the sperm issue ? Past history for me is a left undescended testicle. So operation aged 9. All ok, but this testicle is small and probably not working very well.

John H an orchidopexy can cause a primary hypogonadism. However, it does not nec mean total testicular failure. Therefore TRT doses of HCG would likely be less effective but still necessary. In male infertility, they administer short term high dose HCG to maximise function to conceive. There is the possibility of saturation and down regulation with long term high doses, hence the need for careful dose titration with the use of HCG in long term TRT.

Again, I'll bring up the Canada/NHS similarity here. My doc won't prescribe it because "it's only used off-label". Well, okay. I have spina bifida and am wheelchair bound, but if it has anything to do with mood improvement and feeling better, separate and apart from any fertility issues, then....should that not be a consideration as well? Damn I wish I could somehow get to your clinic. You get it. FWIW I'm on 80mg test E subq 3 x wk.

Ian Eckstein doctors can prescribe off-label if there is clinical justification and they have the necessary expertise. Doctors are legally responsible for the medications they prescribe. It’s about safe practice, if they are not confident and it’s not standard practice, they are under no obligation, irrespective of it being considered ‘best practice’.

What’s your take on the idea that HCG eventually stops working and “burns out” the leydig cells? It would be interesting to hear what the longest time you’ve had a patient continuously on HCG without it losing effectiveness.

I was prescribed HCG and Xyosted, but my testciles have " grown", a lot. How come the testciles are growing ? I thought the stopped growing after puberty. My endocrinologist prescribed the following dosage : 1 ML Xyosted weekly, and 1 ML HCG three times per week. Thank you.

Hydrocele ! Is there any relation between low T and incidence of a hydrocele. I had an operation for a hydrocele condition when I was six years. For decades I have had a sneaking suspicion that my smaller testicular size has been due to that operation. I have also come to the sneaking suspicion that I probably had low T since I was in my twenties. Is there any evidence to suggest that correction for a hydrocele is connected to low T.

L Allen Sweet a hydrocoele is outside of the testes, what might effect intra-testicular function is the pathology that caused the hydrocoele in the first place.

Wow!! Very informative ! NOW , how long can we stay on HCG ( combine with TRT) without damaging or downregulating the Leydig's cells so that they get least and least stimulated by the HCG . Do we have to cycle on/off the HCG and do we have to LOWER our TRT dosage when we stack HCG with it?

I'd definitely cycle it on and off. It's also very important to take N-Acetylcysteine while on HCG to prevent damaging Leydig's cells. The dosage of HCG should stay very low, say 100/150iu eod, therefore the testosterone "boosting" effect doesn't require an adjustment of TRT dosage.

ive not really heard of hcg improving libido and sex while on trt. i like my hcg. if i use too much i feel like crap but if I use maybe 600 IU a week then I seem to be fine and my testicles seem to stay full

Same here, I take a low dose spread out over 3 days, then 4 weeks off. I do think it helps my libido and it definitely keeps your testicles full. Doctor originally wanted me to take a a huge shot right after my injection day, but it made me feel like crap, when I switched to Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday. I felt great.

Why if it’s so important am I not being prescribed HCG by my professor at the local hospital. As for testicular shrinkage I appear to have some but they seem to go in a cycle of growth and shrinkage as they did before TRT.

HCG mimics LH, it doesn't have the same chemical structure, hence it does not show up as LH in a blood test, also, the delivery system is different, LH is released in a pulsatile manner, so you cannot perfectly replicate natural LH stimulation of the testes. Also, most men have an element of both primary and secondary, so HCG monotherapy is not a substitute for testosterone. We should think of TRT as optimising LH with HCG and supplementing with testosterone.

I have done it both ways independently. HCG is great, and has its purpose in TRT and men trying to have babies. But it does not come close to exogenous testosterone. Please Remember HCG can raise test, but it not all Free, its better usage and purpose is to keep the signal going.

Talk to Doctor about splitting the dose up. I even went to 3 days. I feel a lot better, no more off feeling or jitters. It's all about the dosing. Same with the test. I feel a lot better now that I went to twice a week injections.

Thats men taking huge dosages, like bodybuilders or gym dudes cycling off of steroids. In TRT usage and dosing you should be fine. I think lower is better when starting it, followed up by blood work. Cheers

@@zyzznatural2330 It's dose related. Any amount of HCG will somewhat downregulate endogenous LH. In the other hand Clomiphene stimulate endogenous secretion of LH, so it could be cycled alternatively. HCG can increase aromatization, so keep ready an AI just in case.
