(HD) Big Country - The Seer Live in New York - Aug 27, 1986 (New Upscaled Laserdisc)

**The Seer Live In New York - BRAND NEW upscale to Full 1080p HD**
Despite the limitations of the source footage which is quite soft in focus, Alan has once again gone to work on a fresh HD upscale of this classic Big Country concert from Pier 84, New York City in August of 1986 from Big Country's North American Tour.
With newer tech available since the last upscale of this concert 12 months ago and Alan's painstaking and continuing work to bring us the best quality we can view, we now have something that is the highest quality yet of this great show. The colour, edge definition and detail is now so much richer and clearer. The audio remains untouched from the laserdisc's digital stereo output as it was already so good.
Alan updates us with some thoughts on the original source:
"I think the problem with Seer is that they shot on film and edited on video, so there was an immediate downgrade. They were thinking VHS, so that's what they scaled for. Since the master is gone, this is all we have now, a downscale for VHS! The LD is clearer because it has better edge definition, truer hues, and saturation than VHS..."

Remember buying this on vhs video in what seems a lifetime ago, lucky enough to have seen them many times live in Scotland when I was a massive fan … best live band I’ve ever seen.

I love this concert video. That double guitar attack! I love the interaction between Stuart and Bruce and Tony bouncing on the stage. An amazing band from an amazing time in music. ❤

@15:55 the degradation of human dignity when a man cannot sell the labour of his hands - this song captures it perfectly. Other than that, are there any live recordings of 'The Red Fox' or 'The Sailor', my two favourites off The Seer?

There is already a '1080p' version on KZbin (kzbin.info/www/bejne/havMdp5qj8ubsK8) and the quality is way better than this. This AI 'remaster' is way too aggressive and over smoothed. Definitely stick with the original version.

That one is over 10 minutes shorter though I'll admit the audio is a little crisper
