The best thing about Susan Boyle is that she puts her stamp on a song. She doesn't mimic anyone else.

When she gets over the early nerves and settles herself and reaches for the high, very difficult part in this most beautiful song she touches something really special for me, I loved her first performance of course but once she got hold of this she blew me away. I love her and how she taught all of us the folly of judging any book by it's cover

That" Touch meee...." will always make my heart soar... When I want to hear "Memory". I come here...in all these years, she surely had sung it better than in the Semifinals...but, the real chills I find here, seeing her overcoming that initial insecurity ...and that "Touch meee..." giving me so much joy! She is one of the best singers today, for me, THE best...but, she is so much more than just a singer...and I would say, blessed are those that can see and feel that.Because she can give so much joy! ,

What a PRO and TROOPER you are, Susan Boyle!!! I say this especially for this reason: you cracked that first note (which you obviously realized), and many amateurs or even professionals can blow or throw themselves off for quite a bit. But you did exactly what a trained singer is supposed to do. You pressed your hand up against your diaphragm to steady it and gently support it until you got your bearings so to speak. And no one was the wiser. SPECTACULAR performance! BRAVO!
@peggycassidy15949 жыл бұрын
Martha Hanley She is a great singer, yet, quite a few know that she made an error with that first note. I'm sure that Simon knew that she made an error. Yet, like you said she did the right thing, went on from there and did great. But, in saying that No one was the wiser,I noticed right away that she made an error.
@oswaldwellman78069 жыл бұрын
Peggy Cassidy Yes; most would have noticed the cracked note ,and also a couple off pitch. She was desperately nervous for a few seconds. But who could blame her, and there's no mistaking her outstanding quality
@SchizophrenicCathy9 жыл бұрын
Peggy Cassidy "No one was the wiser"... Um... I think EVERYONE probably noticed the little voice crack at the beginning. Memory is a VERY hard number to sing, and she was in front of that huge audience, and millions of TV watchers. With all that was at stake, anyone would've been nervous. She did awesome. :)

I must let you know that Susan didn't want to win First Place. She wanted Second Place and she got it because she was feeling overwhelmed and God love her, she has Asperger's Syndrome. saw Susan sing live at the Orphium Theater in SF - their only stop on the west coast in her US tour -- ----- I sat w a large group of women that flew out from the upper Midwest ---- it was great --- they matched her up w guy that's a much more -- seasoned - stage performer -- to help bring her along ----- in my opinion a very smart move ---- she even sat at the piano and did a little shtick playing and telling jokes ------ full disclosure --- I work back stage full time ( yes - I paid for the ticket )--- so I asked guys on the crew how it was ----- 'she's not got much personality - but she sure can sing !' sounds like a win to me ----
