@@LARailProductions The Red and Purple lines in Los Angeles are getting new subway cars from China this summer called the CRRC HR4000 series. The Breda A650 will be replaced by these new heavy rail subway cars in the future.

@@LARailProductions There is another P865 car that is preserved too and it is car number 100. It is still in operating condition and it is in the yard in Los Angeles. They just don't use it anymore.

@POOH875 The Breda A650 heavy rail subway cars that currently run on the Red and Purple lines are going to be replaced by the new Chinese trains named the CRRC HR4000 series in the future. The first pilot CRRC HR4000 trains will arrive to Los Angeles this summer in the month of June.

There is no quacker, it has been replaced by the electronic gong.

I removed the quacker sound and reinstalled the electronic gong. The car had the gong first back in the day, and that poor excuse for a quacker sound is horrid. We will leave the quacking to the cars that started quacker horns - our U2s.

@@SuperheroJunior That's not correct. The P2020s originally had an automatic train control panel for ATO GoA2, allowing it to operate without needing a motorman to drive. The P865s also had automated announcements.

I find this so werid ever snice the blue line closed the line for redecorating and replacing the tracks that was the last time I ever seen them in the expo line now they become part of a museum I'm just blown away

Their practically identical counterpart, the 1994 Nippon Sharyo P2020 is still in operation; there are 15 of them. They are, however, only assigned to the Blue Line and do on rare occasion get temporarily switched to Expo for the day, but the chances of that happening are extremely low.

LACMTA still uses high floor LRVs. The reason why the P865s were decommissioned and retired because Metro was looking for newer equipment to replace the aging fleet of original Blue Line cars (built in 1989)

There is no way in hell that Metro would downgrade to a low floor system. Also, LAMTA decommissioned decades ago. LACMTA is the modern authority.
