Excellent videography, great camera angles, engine and freight car closeups, and including buildings and good street scenes adds a lot of contextual details. Much appreciated.

Now that is a great line all of those classic highway flasher signals with old school mechanical crossing bells and even cooler that they have distinctive trackside indicator lights mounted on the signals almost seems like you’re stepping back in time

@LARailProductions there are a few places that are basically Railroad ripples in time I once did a video at a railroad crossing that had gate signals manufactured by Union switch and signal company with mechanical bells capturing a train that was traveling northbound to Fort Worth Texas on jointed rail track with a pair of hollow search light signals which have been out of service for years the scene was perfect a train powered by second generation SD40-2 locomotives with the vintage crossing signals traveling on a track with jointed rail with a pair of searchlight signals was truly stepping back in time here is a link to the time I captured this scene a which was three years ago with one of my older video intros kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKeqmZSOqc5ngpYsi=YO3_8T24DnWRRyxU

Thx for sharing . I think we would all enjoy knowing more about the industries that they serve. What are in the cars for example. Do any ship by rail? Or only receive by rail?
@misha172 ай бұрын
If you Google 'Downey Rd Vernon" and use the Maps tab, you can see the tracks, which run as far wast as Santa Fe St and east to Eastern Ave. You can "scroll" around the area to follow the tracks, and if you Zoom in close enough Google displays the names of some of the businesses along the tracks.

... Also at 6:11 where the train is backing up, you can see the big "G" (General Mills) script logo on the grain elevator.

Thanks! In regards to the specifics of what's in the cars I'm not too sure, apologies.

That yard that is coming out from along the Los Angeles river .. is that a bnsf freight yard?
@misha172 ай бұрын
Technically, yes because the description says that the Angeles Junction Railway (LAJ) is wholly owned by BNSF. However, the actual BNSF yards are on the north side of Bandini Blvd, and the bulk of the LAJ Railway tracks are all or mostly south of Bandini Blvd.
