This entire trilogy had me gripped and moved. Loving every second, every battle, every emotional twist and turn. The music was top notch and gave the much needed cinematic background. Seirra did an amazing job pouring their heart out to make this happen and I am forever happy to see this as the game to have marked the 10th year anniversary. Now 10 years later I look back at this masterpiece and forever am glad I rented the first title at Blockbuster back in 2005 and added it to my christmas list. One day I hope Toys for Bob (or whoever the future owner of him will be) looks at this trilogy and hopefully picks up where they left off and continue this legacy. That or a remaster of it.

besides from everything that can be said about this masterpiece: hunter is an underrated character. nothing could've been possible without him, he """"betrayed"""" chief prowlus only to go get spyro and take him with ignitus, he was a normal cheetah like all of them in avalar but instead of doing nothing he chose to give all the help he could and be a part of the solution, risking himself as well. lovely hell of a character♡ besides his voice is so soothing

It's cause they tell the story across multiple games, without many plotholes in them. Where as look at now a day games, where most of the content is Side Quests, outside of the story, and usually an entire storyline, such as these 3 Spyro games, condensed down into 8 hours of gameplay and not much of that is cutscenes, story, or great characters.

Wow. All I can say is wow. The Spyro series never ceases to amaze me (I’m quoting Ignitus on that one!!) Ever since I was a child, Spyro has had a special place in my heart. I have played Dawn of the Dragon on the WiiU and the DSi, I own Eternal Night for PlayStation and I have watched the cutscenes of all three games in this trilogy at least once a year. Even though Spyro’s story has become mostly a mystery after all of this, I will still never lose hope in my favorite purple dragon.

Guys, I have ULTIMATE evidence that Spyro is more than just alive......my sources are Wikipedia, some quotes in game, and the FINAL cutscene with Ignitus and the Chronicler. Spyro is like a Phoenix.......when Spyro sacrificed himself, the Chronicler couldn't find any trace of him..that's because when he sacrificed himself, his soul went into the body of another purple dragon......he's basically....."The One" as I would call him...Spyro is immortal and will just keep coming back When Spyro's attempt to put the world back worked, it still left some of the planet dispersed from each other, like floating islands. He made the Skylanders area. Later on, you see that because of his heroism, people are now starting to adapt to the change. Spyro later comes back as the one you see in Skylanders. It doesn't sound like him or look like him, but according to lore, that is Spyro....that is "The One".....and it is prophesized, according to Ignitus, that the Purple Dragon will lead everyone to a new age....and since Skylanders Spyro is the leader of the group.....well.....the prophecy is true....and then he'll sacrifice himself again......and again...and again....

I do think that the Legend of Spyro series was pretty awesome, even if just for the story. Sure, it isn't what the past games have shown him to be but nonetheless it's a very pretty story that I think characterizes Spyro so sweetly and creates new characters. I do enjoy his design in these games, the Legend of Spyro series is it's own thing - a reboot of sorts; I think it's rather unfair to compare the older games to this. I embarrassingly had to rebel against crying but I managed. It's nice these games exist even though it's not as fondly remembered - but at least we've got the remaster coming soon.

@@ZyliceLiddell yeah, i think the new studio put way too much focus on things that weren't as important; like the numerous, jarring similarities to god of war. they even use a few sound bites from the series, and i think that's unfortunate. DotD went to a studio that wanted to make a god of war game, not a spyro game, and it really made a lot of aspects of DotD feel so disconnected from everything. the story was also lacking, and the VA for cynder was obviously just there for a pay check. it's a poor choice for cynder, ya know? cree summer i believe played her in eternal night, and i really wish she reprised the role. the biggest gripe i have in DotD though are the character designs- ESPECIALLY cynder's. they really did her dirty.

I played the DS version of this game. The other platforms just made it much clearer for me to understand. Elijah Wood, Kevin Michael Richardson, Jeff Bennett, and Gary Oldman mastered the roles of the Guardians and Spyro so perfectly. I wish there were a fourth installment in this trilogy, but it's not possible. No matter what, I still believe that Spyro and Cynder are alive at the end. That's my confirmation to end the on-going speculation, and my final say in the matter.

He is dead, you see his soul ascend after trapping Malefor in the crystal. Presumably, a dragon has to die before they can become the new Chronicler, then they're bound to the White Isle.

It's been a long time since I last watched this and played the game myself. I have also played all the Skylander games, I thought it was a cute series. (Only reason I have all the games is because of my siblings they were really into it.) But then I rewatched the scenes from this game and saw that the ending showed floating islands, it made me realize that this may have been the beginning of the age of Skylands. And all I did was decide to rewatch this and ended up noticing that similarity, leading me to draw this conclusion. Any one else have thoughts on this?

I don't think this is how skylands was made. I think Spyro brought their world to skylands.

Unless spyro time traveled, he surely didn't create Skylands. The Skylands are endless and have been around for thousands of years, and people have been living in it for thousands of years. One thing that rules out the possibility of him creating skylands and then time travelling is that the Antients of skylands already knew of his adventures. What the cutscene did show was that the world didn't finish forming, and everyone found themselves surrounded by floating islands. So either he brought some of the world, or all of the world to Skylands. Skylands is big enough that that would be possible
