I could watch Stewart Copeland for the rest of my life, and still never get bored with his drumming.

Maestro on the drums, Maestro on guitar, and Maestro song writer and very under rated bass man. Simply put MAESTRO BAND.

Sting's bass playing is underrated by precisely NOBODY who knows even the slightest thing about music.
@Farewelltokingz11 ай бұрын
@@ivanjulian2532a lot of people think he’s praised for bass just because he’s a great singer and songwriter. But Sting can OBVIOUSLY play bass well.

Before the Police I do not ever recall associating reggae music with rock'n roll. They did that just like Elvis and the Beatles took Blues from the American South and turned it in to rock'n roll further demonstrating the transformational nature of music. I think this is a remarkable example of that.

Who’s still listening to this in 2018! This video highlights just how amazing the police were as a live band relative to their contemporaries in 2018.

I still havent heard a better live version of this song than the one they did for the lost bbc tapes. But this one is pretty damn good and prob the best ive heard after the bbc version
@dumfriesspearhead7398Күн бұрын
What were the lost BBC tapes?
@jckhammerКүн бұрын
@dumfriesspearhead7398 they were audio tapes from a bbc radio special recorded around 78 to 79 just as they were starting to breakout . The quality is good and there playing is top notch . Hard to find but it's out there . I had them years ago and need to search them up again . I stoll maintain that the best version of them playing cant stand losing you was on this recording. Sting and Copeland were at their game instrumentaly
I've thought this a few times as well. There are more than a few Police songs that would especially benefit from this execution.

How in the living fuck audio recordings from 1979 can sound this good? Lol I wish there was Van Halen recordings from this era with good sound quality :(

coz it the police in their prime,simple as.they made shitting sound good.
@cowsongs7 жыл бұрын
Well, yeah, because the Police were great, but this clearly sounds like it was taken from the mixer. In 1979, they didn't have anything like a 24-track digital recorder, so they couldn't just spew all 24 (or 48 or whatever) tracks to a digital recorder and then mix it later. But they could have created a decent 4-track mix off the board in advance just for recording. It would still be pretty darn good if they set it up right.

At some point they lost this magic playing live... and it never returned. Just watch the Rock in Rio 2007 comback videos to know what I mean.

¿Alguien podría decirme qué tipo vestimenta/atuendo usa Sting en este video?
@juaniortelli27052 жыл бұрын
Es un traje de piloto, en esa época the police usó mucho de esos oufits, se pueden apreciar en varias fotos desde 1977 al 79 y obviamente en la portada de Outlandos
