(HD) Watching Airplanes 110+ Mins. Imperial Hill, TBIT Los Angeles Int'l Airport LAX Plane Spotting

Welcome back to another edition of planespotting here on the O'HareAviation KZbin channel!
I love LAX and had an errand to run for a friend, ...accomplished southern California spotter and all-around avgeek, Alex of Aviation35 on Instagram... so I decided to spend a few days soaking up the sun and visiting one of my favorite plane watching venues in all the world.

I elected not to go spotting at In-N-Out Burger this time due to
the 6L-24R closure, but I did do some terminal spotting from Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT). It has been a long time since I've seen spotting conditions this good at LAX... the air was clear without almost any haze and you can see the Hollywood sign in some of these shots and they have tried to clean the TBIT terminal windows it appears.

Great Video of LAX Jay! :-) Tonight United Airlines launches daily 787-9 flights between LAX and Singapore. At 8,770 miles it’ll be the Worlds Longest 787 Dreamliner Flight. The Flight Numbers UA37/38 were previously used by Singapore Airlines SQ37/38 when they flew daily A340 flights between LAX and Singapore and ended the flights in November 2013. On November 1 2017 El Al resumes flights between Tel Aviv and Miami. Royal Jordanian is keen on Florida. I’m sure they’ll order 20 or 30 787-9s to expand flights to the United States and Amman Queen Alia Airport will be expanded.

I like seeing the Australian airlines like Virgin Aus and Qantas you don't really see them often only at airports in Australia, New Zealand and major destinations.

One of my favorite things about traveling to different airports is seeing the variety of airplanes that are sometimes unique to a particular airport... Anchorage is like that, you go for the variety. What you see in Boston will be different from what you see in New York or Amsterdam or San Francisco

Great job as usual, Jay. This vid has been added to my "favs" list! As I'm familiar with the layout around LAX, both from actually flying into and out of the airport and also from years as a computer flight "simmer"; as seen from the beginning of this vid you arrived at your "spot" quite early in the morning to start filming on day #1. The shadows cast by the rising sun are east of the airport as the jets took off soon over the Pacific Ocean. I agree as seen in other YT channel vids, your vantage point is perfect to catch all types of planes at this fantastic and extremely busy airport!

Great video! I'm noticing really small wings really thin wings and it's my belief that the older planes possibly needed some type of fuel payload to keep some system operating. But it looks like engineering has found Solutions some of those fuel problems? I think the wings are using the extremely hot air from the turbines to accommodate hot air for the cabin as well as buoyancy pressure like a hot air balloon, and that the actual wings themselves are heated up and that's what helps create the lift along with the forward momentum. That's just some of my thoughts.

I love LAX, although its a 50 min drive with traffic for my parents to take me. I usually convince them to take me to the In-N-Out since it would be a waste of gas to go there for just me plane spotting lol. How do you spot from TBIT? Do you just walk in? Also, would you recommend Imperial Hill more than the Terminal for takeoffs? (Sorry for the questions)

Thanks for watching, Joshua! Sorry it took a little time for me to get back to you. you need a ticket to access the terminal in most cases. In-N-Out is AWESOME and I have it every time I go. Imperial Hill is certainly much better for spotting overall. Spotting from inside the terminal takes a lot of work to get good shots and minimize window glare. Plus you have lots of people talking and lot of background noise.

Nope. In general, you'll need a boarding pass or an to be an airline or airport employee. I ended up flying in for the day and then went spotting the next few days after that as well.

Almost all UFOs are US military projects. I won't tell you how I know. Did not see anything that unusual at that time in the video.
