This song has recently been on loop in my car, my kids wonder why I like it so much. They’re too young to watch this great movie, but one day I’ll sit them down with some popcorn and we’ll enjoy together. There’s something about Tina’s voice and the 80’s Synth effects that make it so very timeless. RIP Tina, you were simply the best at what you gave to us all.

For some reason, this is my favorite song from her as well, even though she had so many popular hits. Anyhow, Tina Turner was a one a kind voice and will never be replicated.

"We Don't Need Another Hero" is a song by Tina Turner, featured in the 1985 film "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome." The song was written by Graham Lyle and Terry Britten, and produced by John Hudson. It was released as a single in 1985 and reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States. The song earned Turner a Golden Globe award for Best Original Song. The song's lyrics express the idea that people do not need a hero to solve their problems, and that they have the strength and power to do so themselves

Oh, sweet childhood memories! Also, of course - cheers on the edit and the upload. It's awesome!

It sure was a weird mix of Millers wicked sense of raw action and some kind of Disney-esque story featuring child actors, an american pop star as the main villain and Jarres classic cinematic soundtrack. It really had some elements of american blockbuster adventures of the era, which was strange for an australian post apocalyptic action.
@beeman20754 жыл бұрын
I respect the first two films, but Thunderdome is the only Mad Max film I watch once every 2-3 years. The 'lost kids' and their hidden paradise, Aunty Entity, Master-Blaster, the train escape, Jebediah and his aeroplane... I love this film.
@Taojas4 жыл бұрын
I love this movie too. It has always been underrated and compared unfavorably with the first two Mad Max movies but when you think about it, as far as the in-universe lore is concerned, this was Max's finest hour and the completion of his arc over the three movies. He basically put in motion the re population of Sydney with genetically viable humans, helping start the long and torturous climb back to "civilization", becoming deified in the process. Just a great movie and a great ending. Viva 1985 and Viva Thunderdome!

ROCK IN PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tienes toda la razón, nada de inclusión forzada, simpe y maravillosamente una super villana, una morenaza de fuego... era la reina Tina Turner.

i play this song everytime i think about the year i lost my girlfriend and my aunts passing not long after that. My life was in ruins around that time. i literally lost two people i loved deeply months apart and was lost deep down, i wasn't home for weeks after all that happened, "we don't need another way home" perfectly fit the description of them times. i tear up listening to this

I'm sorry about your loss. I know about loss too much, as I lost my mom recently. I hope you find solace in your life. I think this song has so many elements that work as an elixir of hope and that's what I love about it.

With "Beyond the Thunderdome" the MadMax series finally became pop culture and Mel Gibson a superstar! Accompanied by Tina Turner's bombastic soundtrack and a humorous story, the third part of the series stood out from the more brutal predecessors in a pleasant way that was suitable for the masses.

Out of the ruins Out from the wreckage Can't make the same mistake this time We are the children The last generation (the last generation) We are the ones they left behind And I wonder when we are ever gonna change it Living under the fear 'til nothing else remains We don't need another hero We don't need to know the way home All we want is life beyond the Thunderdome Looking for something We can rely on There's got to be something better out there Love and compassion Their day is coming (coming) All else are castles built in the air And I wonder when we are ever gonna change it Living under the fear 'til nothing else remains All the children say We don't need another hero We don't need to know the way home All we want is life beyond the…
