My wife, Karen, died ten years ago and today would have been her 67th birthday. Playing this brings back the memories. Karen adored Pink Floyd and one of the best things I ever did as a surprise was buy two tickets for one of the Earl's Court, Division Bell concerts. Couldn't get a ticket without it being part of a coach from Wolverhampton package, I paid over the odds for two tickets and placed them in an envelope, cellotaping this to the patio window. From the lounge I said that something was in the garden and could she see what it was. Her delighted scream will stay with me forever, as will the concert. For you Karen - Shine on your crazy diamond. I love you still.

Been a Pink Floyd fan since childhood, way back in the 80s listening to them on cassette tapes! It was late '88 or early '89, my family and I were living in Forney, TX, a little country town at the time, and we had this video rental mart we'd go to on Fridays. While Dad and I were looking for something new to rent for the weekend, the store started playing this concert and, at eight years old, I immediately recognized the opening of Shine On You Crazy Diamond and was like, "That's Pink Floyd!"

One of the best and most memorable concerts I have ever been to. Nobody compares to Pink Floyd. Sad that Richard Wright is no longer with us. He really put his heart into that keyboard. David Gilmour is a musical anomaly, no other guitarist can make the guitar sing the way he does, it's magical and no wonder Pink Floyd has been my favorite Rock group since 1981 when the Wall came out, my buddies and I all became huge followers, I'm now 57 and will be 58 in a few weeks and their music still moves me 😎 thank God I not only have amazing kids and grandkids now but I still feel young listening to Pink Floyd ❤

When I was yung (17) in 1965. my freand and worker-partner played solo guitar of Beatles in Park of Russian Rocket City Korolev. Following after Saint Music I tried to escape from USSR to England. WAS put into prison. 3 years. In 70s I learned english by miself in All Union State Library of Foreign Literature and Then - There were a Miracle: according to the Will of God By the will of God, despite all conditions and obstacles, I got at the British Embassy in Moscow and watched the film “Jesus Christ Superstar”! Music is one of the most universal art forms in society. Almost everyone relate to it. To isolate a certain instance of it as 'art' does not make sense. But like all expressions of art some are of a higher standard than others. This is also dependent on the observer though. Art is a very subjective subject. The first time I heard Pink Floyd was in 1975 with the album "Wish you were here" I was 11 years old, I immediately fell madly in love with their music because it "spoke" to me, it “enchanted” me, I saw them in concert in Versailles (France) in 1988, what a wonderful and unforgettable memory... Today we are in 2024 and nothing has changed like the first time in 1975, their music transports me and pleases me as much... I like a lot of other kinds of music, groups but I think that they will forever remain the number ones for me Pink Floyd the best band forever ...

I was 12 when this double album was released. I had just started learning guitar and my mum bought me the record. I would sit in my bedroom in the dark and listen to it pretending I was at the concert! Such a buzz to watch it.

30 years ago I rented an “entertainment center”with vhs and integrated speakers. Got a vhs copy and called some friends. 10 minutes in blasting away and there was a knock on the door. My neighbor standing on my stoop with a 12 pack asking if he could join the party. Ended up entertaining most of my neighbors that night, not 1 complaint. Dubbed a cassette and wore it out. Best Music I’ve ever enjoyed to this day.

I've seen tons of concerts and i must agree. I saw Floyd twice ('87 and '94) and Gilmour in 2015. The best concerts of all time imho. I have to admit that I'd seen Roger Waters The Wall concert and it was pretty amazing too. Floyd rules. As someone else wrote, a Floyd concert is an experience

For some reason, the opening bars of this track always make me nostalgic. I remember hearing it in 1975 on their 'Wish you were here' album. I'd just got married and we'd moved to another part of the country. I was 26 at the time, and have had so many good (and bad) times since then, but this track rekindles memories of years before that, my teenage years, great friends, girlfriends, good times, innocent, simple and so much fun. Trouble is the older you get the more memories you have, and for me this is the switch that brings them flooding back. So good to remember those times, but my God it tugs at the heart strings! In this world today, with so much unhappiness and evil around, I wish I could return to those days. Pink Foyd will always reign supreme!!

It was a brilliant concert, even from the upper reaches of the back of the stadium it sounded and looked amazing. Videos can’t do it justice, but it does help rekindle some of the feelings I had at the time. Hard to believe it was over 35 years ago!

I saw them in Minneapolis many, many moons ago. I thought it was one of the best concerts I had ever witnessed. I felt like I was at Woodstock even though I was too young to be there (I was only 11 years old and my parents would not dream of it at the time). I still love Pink Floyd at 67 years old. One of the greatest bands in history.

I remember my dad waking me and my brother up when we were kids, probably 10-12 years old. He's 18 months younger to the day, anyways he always had the best of the best of radios and speakers. But he made us get up and we had to listen to "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and he kept saying listen to that guitar! Lol, I'll never forget it as long as i live. I didn't appreciate it until I was much older but it was an experience that he got to share with "his boys." Thanks, for showing us something so beautiful. ❤

it's amazing that this was done in the mid-eighties. Artists can't touch this level today, not even close, even with all techno wizardry that exists today. Never again will such a band exist.

I was watching comfortably numb the other day and at the end a young kid said something that I really agree with. He was amazed at how good it was and said ( it feels like music is going backwards) instead of getting better it is not really music anymore, just noise.

Why do you find it amazing??? Techno wizardly and musical industry were top level during the 80's and earlier in the 70's and advanced enough to allow the musicians create the genius music in the 60's, and besides, composing talent has nothing to do with the technology, - humans create music, not robots. Musical genius dates decades and centuries back, to the classical composers. Don't take an offence, but you are probably a young person who sees the world through the screen of iPhone, just discovered PF and got amazed how it was even possible 30-40 years ago. LOL We, the older generations, are amazed at how the modern mainstream music sucks compared to the past and at how shallow the modern generation is

I'm middle aged and went to a bunch of concerts in the eighties and nothing I saw was at this level and I saw some good acts. Point I was making is there were and are still great "composers"from the past. PF during their time was one of them. Modern artists today (if you can call them that) are standing on the shoulders of bands like PF.@@val4803

66. I've forgotten how many times I've been on the pf trip. Each listening, is unique unlike other talented acts, floyd always reaches deeper, touches me places none other do. Total mind trip bringing thoughts and experiences from my recesses. I learn more with each trip. Pf will go down as the best ever, because they are.

I’m the only one in my history that appreciates this. I never knew what attracted me to them. Pain suffering and disappointment at first. I’m 48 . Tears always flow from my eyes with some song happiness flows from others anger and repentance flowed from others. I’ve never understood my exact connection. All I know is that they have touched my heart. They with my creator . They are wrong in many ways I can’t ignore that fact. I can still credit them for my deeper focus on life in the world as we experience it. Sorry too drown out. God be with you all
