I haven't done filler work for years like 10+. If i remember correctly, there was a product called "Top Stop." It was an ultra fine filler. Designed to go over standard course filler. Is it still a thing? Why is Del bollox not using it if he's got 40 years experience !

Loybloks were abrasive rubber products for polishing metal (usually alloys). There were various grits (3 I think) but were discontinued then appeared back as Garryflex blocks

The tank is a good idea but I wouldn't use a metallic base coat on the side you leave in 400 grit, you will get flatting marks especially in silver or metallic sky blue colours.

Matt (Or anyone), how often do you need to drain down a air-compressor when not in use? Obviously before and after use but what about if you have a occasional compressor in a uninsulated UK garage. How critical is it to drain it everyday without fail? Cheers. I want a compressor but they seem so fvcking needy lol.

We have at my workplace a 100 litre compressor we drain around every 3 month. isn´t heavily used thou and only starts up to fill the tank about 10-15 times a week. if you are not using it there is no reason to drain it as there shouldn´t be any water in it unless it been used as the condensation in the compressed air is what is accumulating.

i do mine when it’s cold - before use rather than after - until the water stops coming out, i don’t drain all the air out as it seems pointless. With only occasional light-duty use you don’t really get all that much water anyway, it’s when they’re flogging on and getting warm that it starts to rain inside the cylinder. It’s turned off during this so that the pump isn’t creating any kind of stirring effect and all that’s happening is the pressure evacuating through the drain tap. Draining when it’s cold seems to let all the condensation cool and collect in the bottom of the cylinder, so it comes out like emptying a bath, whereas doing it warm or after use doesn’t allow for that to happen so you have to fully discharge it

I've done bodywork for years and if you are good you can use your hand and it will be perfect, I've i can prove it, I've been called into body shops to do integrated and custom work they couldn't do also there is times when there is no other choice than to use your hand

@D3vtsb hows things have you done many restorations I spent fucking years at it but loved it all learned amazing tricks over the years did a lot of LS 6.2 rebuilds for lads too, they suffer with cam bearing spin so total deaster or over bore and rebuild but over all them years I did body work and its was the job I relay enjoyed out of them all dirty as fuck dust, wet, fiber glass allover ya but itching for days but hear we all have our hobbies 😉👍
