@@karlos5885 the reason you prefer cool or normal over Warm is because you have trained yourself in brighter rooms to accept it as a default setting. Trust me, if you set up your HDTV in a darker room, and leave the settings on warm, in a week you'll notice the huge difference in accustomed lifelike color, true to real life outside. 😉🖖🍻

One thing to keep in mind for any of the C1 owners when you're in game mode the black and white balance adjusters will adjust your near black gamma for you It's a really really powerful tool and when you're in game mode I suggest playing with it

First off, I want to say thank you for all of the hard work you put into these videos for us. It is absolutely amazing. I have been running into some issues with streaming apps on my Xbox series x to the LG C1 55” and I was wondering if you knew what the fix would be. I have tried aspect mode in original or 16:9 and have tried using just scan in auto, on, or off and it didn’t seem to matter. I have energy saving mode off but the following issues occur: HULU - “invalid format” screen. Sometimes it will fix itself with turning the tv on and off. Other times I have to restart the Xbox. And sometimes it forces the Xbox to low res mode. There are also times where I just can’t watch Hulu for the night because it happens over and over and over again. DISNEY + - the same exact issues above from Hulu happen on D+ as well. XBOX HOME SCREEN - the issues above occur when just sitting idle on the Xbox Home Screen sometimes as well. Amazon Prime - I will be watching a show or movie and the picture will dim and brighten on its own. It also seems to go from HD quality to non HD quality and back and forth. Other than that, the “invalid format” issues happens here as well. Netflix - seems to have minimal issues compared to the others. However, there have been times where the screen will just go black but I can still hear the audio playing. When this happens, I typically have to restart the Xbox and it fixes itself. HBO Max - I haven’t watched enough on hbo max yet to know the patterns of the errors through this app. As you can imagine, all of these issues that continue to occur over and over again becomes very very frustrating. To have a $500 gaming system on a $1300 TV and have these problems consistently is painful. If you have any insight on how to rectify these issues, that would be greatly appreciated. If anyone knows a better way to reach out to this video creator, please let me know.

Thank you for this content. I presume the same settings will go just fine with the B1? Unfortunately some of the tv settings are not working properly as my image goes through an Elgato 4k60 Pro mk2 capture card, which will disable some of the features, such as the VRR.

Just bought this tv today at Best Buy. For the 55" I paid $1370.00. That's including tax. I haven't had but about a hour with it and it looks incredible. I never realized just how much having true blacks make a difference. Now I can finally play my Xbox Series X as it was intended to be played. Can't wait to play my first game at 120 fps! 😁

It's immediately obvious when you see true blacks on an OLED display vs the gray "blacks" that you see on a VA LCD or IPS LCD display due to the backlight. A display with zero backlight is a night and day difference vs a self emissive display like OLED. You can even do a test by comparing side by side a starry night scene in a movie like Interstellar for example.

I’d love to see a video for best settings with the C1 and the new Apple TV 4K. Since you can stream so many different types of content with the Apple TV (tv shows, movies, live sports, video games) it’s hard to know which settings would work best considering it’s one input being used for all these different mediums. Sometimes I watch movies and get the soap opera effect and sometimes it seems like the scenes in shows I watch are too dim and then all of a sudden the picture will get brighter out of nowhere like someone just turned the light on in the show. I think a best setting video would be very helpful.

This would be fantastic. I’ve had more of a seamless experience with the A80J and Apple TV in my living room, but with the C1 and Apple TV we got for our bedroom having more motion issues. I feel like the Sony is better at smoothing out stutter without introducing SOE. (CineMotion low, motion flow smoothness 1, Clairity min and frame rate match OFF on the Apple TV results in beautiful cinematic motion for all content and no soap opera) With the LG, to have decent motion without soap opera effect, I have to turn match frame rate ON with the Apple TV, and all motion settings off (including Cinema Screen) to eliminate SOE but I’ll get worse stutter than the Sony. Is that the best I can hope for? To my eyes, even though Cinema Screen is not supposed to be motion interpolation, I seem to notice SOE.

Im not sure if it’s just me who needs to get used to the brightness of HDR and Dolby Vision, but is there a recommended value to set both the OLED brightness and contrast, to decrease some of that brightness, while not losing picture accuracy or color accuracy? Yes please. However it will also be dependent on whether you're using a hdmi 2.1 card or not so would need to address both situations, and both major gpu vendors. Its not as simple or easy to do as this video.

Hello Vincent. Thanks for your work. Those settings are really great. Actually i’ve question about HDR in game settings. For example in RE Village all we need to do is set brightness until square will be barelry visible. It’s quite simple. But in games like Guardians od the Galaxy we need to set brightness and max luminance without any precision instruction (like in RE Village). So the best i can do is leave it default ? i tested by miself with the update of the C1 and on "console mode" now you can get the 4:4:4, also without the problem of the color banding that usually used to have before the update. And on dolby vision, is the input lag problem solved? whoever, this video is actually the best on internet to setting this tv on xbox, is even better that the one that you upload before!. Hello. Thank you for the video. I noticed you turned oled pixel brightness to 55 when you changed tv settings. But that switched back to 100 when you opened an HDR game (and in Dolby vision too) and you didn’t switch it to 55 again. Should I change oled pixel brightness in HDR/Dolby vision there as well? I also noticed contrast setting changed automatically when opening the HDR game for some reason.

Yes there is on C9 and Cx...mist prefer leaving it on game mode as PC mode introduces slightly more lag.... Not sure about the boost mode on C1 tho

@HDTVTest, what’s your view on the Xbox Series X Dolby Atmos sound delay issue? I’ve tried all sorts and been reading everywhere but I can’t find a proper solution where I get full HDMI 2.1 picture quality and proper Dolby Atmos (without delay). Is this to do with the 40Gbps max bandwidth?

If you use PC mode it increases input lag a little and I don't see any improvement for video games with full 4.4.4

Hello Vincent, Thank you for your great content and effort. Can you explain to me why my LG CX shows me in Dolby Vision gaming with 120 Hz YCBCR 422 8bit while when I uncheck Dolby Vision and just play HDR it is the full bandwidth 120 Hz RGB 10bit ? Why Dolby Vision goes down to YCC422 and 8 bit? The game is Halo Infinite with freesync activated. Didn't have the opportunity to test other games yet. Thank you in advance for your help.

Dolby Vision uses more bandwidth than HDR10 and so Series X cannot do full 4:4:4 with DV in games. It is limited to 4:2:2 in games with DV enabled.

Hi Vincent, great video as always! Really helpful. Would you still recommend 10 bit on the colour depth setting of the Xbox on the c1 like you did in the other video you link near the end of this one on the cx? It does display picture in 12 bit and isn’t a black screen like when you put it in that option on the cx but I’d rather turn it to 10 bit if it’s downscaling to 8 bit anyway.

it's not downscaling to 8 bit, but the chroma subsampling is downgraded from 4:4:4 to 4:2:2.

Vincent, what I don’t understand is the FPS counter showing in game optimizer or on the small grey box on screen corner after smashing the green button..if you set the option of 120fps in the Xbox setting, and you play any game were you noticeably see a dip in frames, it will STILL ALWAYS display 120, even WITH VRR OFF.. in fact, turning on VRR dips a single frame (sometimes 2) yielding a consistent figure of 119-118.. how is this figure accurate when certain games are certainly dropping to even below 60?? I played resident evil 7 on FPS boost, with 120fps in Xbox setting, AND VRR ON; and BOTH game optimizer and green button screen show a consistent figure of 119-120, yet clearly the frames drop significantly below that in some scenes… please explain this as I found absolutely no video on KZbin clarifying this.. and to my surprise no one is discussing this… From DUBAI with ♥️

Well, VRR off would always show the same value I believe. The TV can probably only show VRR frame rates and a fixed rate. It would not know when the game renders a frame, normally. That's just new pixel values.

@ thank you brother John for that..agreed; but while this DOES make sense, I still FEEL something isn’t adding up here.. look, let’s start with game optimizer: according to ‘my limited’ understanding, it serves as a data screen similar to what you might find on gaming monitors… displaying game resolution details and frames, etc.. IF I set the Xbox internally to say- 60fps, with VRR ON, and BOTH game optimizer ( call it GO) and the green button screen ( call it GB) display a rapidly transitioning figure of 59-60fps, then the game running on the screen should “hypothetically” by necessity be running accordingly (I say hypothetically since I may be making false presumption); if not, then on what basis are Both GO & GB rendering their figures? However, the game CLEARLY and most certainly dips way below that… in fact, after testing countless games, I ‘BELIEVE’ turning VRR OFF actually renders most games slightly better… they actually run better.. somehow VRR causes a slight stutter throughout… it’s just really bizarre how it’s algorithm works.. the whole VRR/ FPS BOOST/ 60-120FPS modes just don’t play well together, modestly speaking. (Again, stating that this rationale could be due to my limited learning here).. Having said that, I feel Vincent can really capitalize on this as I’ve found nothing on this platform after scouring through for days.. To reiterate, I just sense something is amiss with the whole mechanism in which these features operate mutually… possibly due to a bad digital “handshake” between game developer, game console, and tv manufacturer.. This subject really needs to be explored more in-depth.. and Vincent is perfect for this..because I know he’ll get to the bottom of it… Not even Microsoft has provided clear validation..
