Chief, I don't play Smite... and when I do, I usually regret it. I'm watching your channel 'cause I want something to distract me from the crushing reality of having to live through my job, other job, workouts, cooking and cleaning. I am sure many people do so, since you're just perfect mix of entertaining and chill. What about trying to take one day a week off Smite and giving us some Lies of P, Hellblade I, Portal... (Perhaps splitted into 1-2h gameplay sessions or... y know, any better idea.) See if people like it, see if it gets views. If this game is dying, don't let it drag you down as well. We all know hunters running around with fatalis isn't gonna make people stop uninstalling anyway.

I support this! Some streamers are putting their bets on Smite 2 but we ought to consider the chance it fails the market. I see how Sam refers to games like Kingdom Hearts with passion and I'd like to see some videos on it, how it is to watch him playing other games including non-competitive ones.

@@nilsonrobertoabadias5244 Agreed, other channels never mentioned it but Sam did.. the algorithm and how random videos can hurt the stupid AI math.... with that said many of them just make 2nd channels. I specifically watch some gamers only because either I want to learn tactics, I want to learn how to get past a point, or I don't want to play at all but want to watch someone else play. We did this when I was a kid, group of friends would gather around and watch 1-2 of us play, cheering on, reacting to crazy things happening, it was fun. Watching these types of videos is enjoyable for me. I no longer watch crap cable TV or movies. I've been watching "Alter" for horror shorts which are 1000 times better than movies out these days. And gamer videos as my "TV". I enjoy when creators release videos daily but I know how annoying it could be to create. I use to watch Neebs Gaming but they take so long to release videos and they cut so much trying to make it more like a show that it makes it boring and honestly I start watching other channels while waiting for a new video of theirs to release and end up going back months later instead of days. They finally added magic dumpster and I now watch that way more than their main channel. Idk just my two cents. I am a 40 year old chick so I am probably not the target group here.

I have to imagine quite a bit of the playerbase drop off is people just waiting for Smite 2 at this point. They kind of shot themselves in the foot in that regard. Feels a little pointless to sink time into Smite, when Smite 2 is just around the corner

Pretty much this, I haven't cared much about Smite since I've been participating in the alphas. I still play, just don't really care as much grinding ranked. We'll probably see the player base numbers on steam reflect more in the 24/7 alpha coming next month.

when we get the 24/7 alpha + progression im sure the drop off will be crazier bc i used to have no problem getting an arena game in 30 seconds or in the middle of the night but now its getting to 1:30-2:00 territory ignore that it made it a timestamp lol

I was a closed beta tester for Smite, I remember playing when Ra 1 hit multiple times if they ran the same path, when Ao Kuang was Kukulkan and Sun Wukong was Hun Batz. I haven’t played Smite in probably 5 years but I watch every one of your videos. I watch for you way more than I watch because of Smite. You’re just a grade A dude and make great videos that I can watch for a bit and decompress about real life. I’m rooting for you, I imagine Smite 2 releasing will bring in a lot of attention.

When Said Hachiman's 2 gave him movement speed he meant attack speed. The skill gives you attack speed when you cast it and more if you stand in it, it also gives attack speed to other teammates who stand in it.

PC Smite player here. I have been playing daily since open beta. I stopped a couple weeks ago because the Steam Launcher dropped 32 bit as an option to boot from. Despite owning a pretty sweet PC rig, Steam wouldn't launch 64 bit, saying I didn't have enough memory. I have plenty of RAM (32gb) and VRAM but alas...and HiRez Support pretty much said "IDK." Anyway. This never fixed it before but I tried uninstalling and reinstalling for giggles. It worked. I'm back.

FWIW Sam, Apex is getting huge right now. You used to put out some Apex content and you were actually really good at that game. You may consider getting back into that in a limited capacity just to start building a portfolio of multiple games considering Smites slightly up in the air future. I personally haven't played Smite in over a year, I still watch your videos occasionally because of your personality, but mostly I click recommended videos on my homepage. . . which is currently flooded with Apex content from a ton of different streamers. I havent played Smite on a consistent pattern because the player base got insanely toxic for no reason. around 2020, I was playing Clash of all game modes and for literally about 17 straight games I had teammates not play objective, chase kills deep into enemy side of map, and immediately blame their horrid build and choices on anyone that was focusing buffs and towers then sitting in fountain spamming "you rock, cancel that" it was overwhelmingly annoying, and killed my desire to play.

They announced Smite 2 way too soon. They let players know Smite 1 was dying without having the replacement ready. Now they realize their mistake and decide to throw away every shed of balance the game has, in a futile effort to bring players back.Tragic. My only hope is that this doesn't hurt Smite 2 as well... Play a lot of Medusa in conq right now, im a adc main. I start with blink and take my 1 and 3 as first ability’s. After clearing the buffs at the start. I blink dash vipor shots the enemy adc. It full kills the enemy even with eagis. It’s a free FB and a snowball Medusa. Works better in mid u can farm the mage so easily

I think when he walked you down into tower your only choice was to turn and fight him, he was getting the back shots on you for some quick burst. If you turn and thorns I think it could have turned out differently for that fight

Hey Sam, I’d been a big Smite fan since it came out, and I’ve probably been a viewer for…4-5 years? Personally, I stopped playing Smite when they made the item changes and removed bruiser items from the game. It felt to me like the game was going in the League direction and kind of just making solo lane tanks and Mages the best at everything, and I didn’t like that meta whatsoever. But the return of bruiser items is exciting, and I pretty much never stopped watching ur content. Keep it up man, at this point I watch you for you moreso than for Smite.

Maaaan around 4 minutes in that Poseidon kinda baited you into a longer fight while he had lifesteal. I feel like because you were behind (you're not often in that situation so when you are you tend to get a bit sticky with your plays) you saw him low and went for it but while behind the only way you killed him there was perfect execution before he life stole off wave and that perfect execution just kinda wasn't feasible safely

It's because of the revert, it's not fun to get 1 shotted by everything in the game. Also, the battlepasses have been garbage, and the events are trash. They used to have fun adventure modes and things like that, why they would create an adventure mode and then scrap it never to be used again makes no sense. They could have made it into a permanent roguelike survival mode and attracted a new player base, I don't know who tf is making these decisions but they need to be fired. The adventure mode was the most fun I had playing smite.

@@s133p3r0 it's not the revert, its actually the opposite when they made every god into tanks is when people stopped playing. They made it noob friendly and held everyone hand, and nobody wanted to play since it was a tank fest and just got lvl 20 max build farm fest. Dumbest thing smite did, just play better and have better positioning. It's just a skin money grab, the battle passes used to refund your gems upon completion and they were only 400 gems instead of the 650. The player base is lower so they up'd the price to counter that and just drive more and more out.

As a long time KZbin subscriber, I think the loss in subs has been a mix of videos and the game itself, I think if you played some conquest and did some sort of challenge similar to fineokay winning a game in every role with the same god or played joust with a stack of friends you have good banter with similar to trell, you’d have more long term success.

Smite2 leek was too big and too early,, i played smite1 straight since season 3.. for 2 montb or so i dont even think about starting smite1 cuz i just waiting for smite2 release.. my brain keep saying 'its not worth playin smite1 anymore'.. thats how it is man.. but i still watching every of your vids for years sam
