The real gem here for most of us there is a limit to what we can fix in a given amount of time. KZbin presenters are releasing content so often that much will not be something we should work on before we largely complete ome or two necessary changes and go on to the next thing. You really meed to see a qualified teacher. Yes it costs money but it will save you so much time and produce better results than digging it out of the dirt. Been there.

This is *much more useful than teaching guys who already have low handicaps. This is taking a normal guy, who can occasionally crunch the ball, but who's scores are all over the place, and showing him how to make big improvements.

Eric, after over 100 videos online, this is without question, the BEST video I've ever seen to fix my consistent mistakes of hitting my shots left with a definite pull and then 30-40% fat shots. The weight shift to 60% to my left side and closing my shoulders with my right arm lower than my left will and IS making a definite difference. I can't thank you enough for this INCREDIBLE instruction !!!

Bringing me back to this awesome video on weight/balance, which I have struggled with lately, particularly with wt inside of the left foot (I did not know inside!) and inside right foot (60/40) takes my breath away. This explains so much with my terrible balance issues. This combined with your other video I just viewed, reinforcing importance on starting rt shoulder higher (like the "k" I believe) toward left shoulder down.. bingo.. and I will feel back in business and confident playing my round this afternoon! I had been hitting long and straight, and on next shot totally out of whack out of balance and lifting and overswinging. Your instruction helps greatly with my consistency! Thank you thank you!

Eric - you've boiled things down again perfectly. Hitting the ball from the inside is exactly like taking an outside pitch to right field (for a right handed batter) in basebal. Perfect example. You are so good at explaining these things simply so that your students can understand the concepts...it's a real gift.

This entire lesson is a nugget Eric. I've already watched it 3 times. I've been grinding to figure out why I cannot keep from coming over the top. I suspect that your point about the right arm being lower than the left at address is my major kryptonite. My current setup has the right arm 1000% on top of the left. No way you don't come over the top from there. Having taken a few practice swings with your proposed setup, the inside path is paved. It also makes my turn sequence way better. As always, you are the man!

Hi Eric, I’m a beginner golfer and I’m just trying to get a basic swing together. Even though I’m not as good as the chap in the video, it’s refreshing to see someone actually deliver a lesson to a person who actually needs it, rather than a pro just showing how to hit perfect shots and making it look easy. Well done, liked and subscribed. If I was closer I’d pop in for a lesson.

😂 This guy (I'm NOT ragging on him at all) almost perfectly described my game, everything from libel to shoot in the 90s to 100, but could be in the 80s looking like I know what I'm doing, and is most likely to hit pulls! I swear that is exactly how I would describe my current game to you Eric. However, working on better hip turn (as I've mentioned in other video comments) as well as I know I have a tendency to set up with feet more or less square but shoulders open. Working on that one too... I do work on trying to bring the club more in on the backswing, but I guess I'm always afraid of coming too far from the inside too soon... Love that phrase, "Feel weird and goofy but look correct." 😀 Wish I were a tiny bit closer to you (just south of Baltimore) I'd come see you for an in-person lesson in a heartbeat! Until then, thank you Eric as always for the easy to understand and implement tips and feels. I feel like this was my own personal virtual lesson!

Great lesson. I was wondering though why you didn't have him flare his left foot out as he kept it square which promotes too much weight transfer on the backswing away from the target which was his main issue. He also didn't have nearly enough weight forward during the swing as his left foot would spin out. Curious as to why this wasn't addressed. Thanks for the great lessons.

UPDATE! I have been your "online" student for several years and this 25 minute session has literally changed my game. I am back to where I was 20 years ago and in just after 4 weeks breaking 90, and the last 2 rounds breaking 80, easily. I'm hitting the ball farther and straighter than I was 20 years ago, but without the slice, just straight or a bit of a draw. It feels like cheating! I cannot believe how easy this is! I only hit about 10 buckets of balls to groove the new swing but well worth each penny! You will feel a huge change at the beginning, I wont lie. Taking it to the course is hard because of the front shoulder and feeling so closed and the right elbow bent and lower than your right arm. It feels like you are going to hit it so far right, but eventually your alignment and swing will feel more normal with each swing and the contact is crisp. For all you pullers, stick with it! Even for those of you that don't pull the ball, this will work for you too.

Thanks! I like to start with the MACRO stuff that will change the students main issues FIRST.....then clean up some of the micro stuff. He said his main issues were FAT SHOTS and PULLS. After looking at video we determined weight shift would help fix the fat shots and alignment/swing path would fix pulls. So we started there. Moving forward I would clean up some other things like hand attachment, release pattern, etc Hit the biggies that will directly effect the outcome FIRST in a lesson.....hope that helps!

I have a friend (honestly not me haha) that baseball grips the club and his right arm gets over the top a lot pushing the shoulder over and the ball left (he opens the face to fade back to centre). Does a baseball grip compound this particular issue as it forces the right hand lower? I've had to micro adjust this myself (particularly in the shorter irons) with an interlock so appreciate it's not 100% the grip. Another fantastic piece of content btw. Its an option---wanted to focus on shoulder line first

John still hit really nice shots with his before setup. If he was world-class over the ball, maybe flared the feet to help those hips, a little more forward knee bend, and better hip-to-ankle relation, I bet he would crank a 5-iron for 200+ yards. Dude has a nice swing.
