When a gamer sells their collection, you know life stuff is happening. I sold my entire collection many years ago to buy my first house for my family. I still collect today but nowhere near what I use to have. That collection may have made me happy back then but it funded a home for new memories with my family and it was worth every penny.

Whoever Paul is, he has an INCREDIBLE life of gaming. It's amazing to see such a clean collection and know that more people will get to enjoy these too. No way his days of gaming are done, even if he doesn't go back to the older stuff anymore. As someone trying to make up for missed games because we weren't able to afford them growing up, this is literal gold lol Got my first GameCube, gba, xb360, ps3 phat, Dreamcast, and N64 just this year and even though i have to fix them up a bit i can't wait to find a couple good games for each!

This dude had such a variety of games for different game systems and I'm sitting here watching as she's showing us all these different games. Its not a sad thing entirely, it differs per person. There are many phases in life and sometimes the owners have moved on and other activities in life bring them more joy. I had a pretty nice collection at one point and ended up selling because for a long time it collected dust. I didn't have the same joy in playing games like I used to. It happens. The cool thing is that now others get to enjoy it and it will help to support a small business. Theres a lot of good that comes from this.

I've had to sell my entire gaming collection twice. Since then I'm in a much better situation and I'm slowing building back some of what I had, with a launch PS3, a 3DS, and an orange Gamecube that I just bought. I think I'll be good with a Switch, an Xbox 360, an N64, and maybe a Dreamcast. But that 64 is going to be a budget-buster if I decided to rebuild that part of my old collection, yikes. Anything Mario is still really spendy.

Love seeing trade-in videos, crazy seeing all the stuff people had in their collection. It'd be cool seeing videos on what it's like working/owning a game store. One of my local game stores, TND Video Games (they have a KZbin channel), often posted videos talking about misconceptions about owning a store, trends they see in terms of what sells and the type of questions they get asked, and what their favourite games are and the type of stuff they themselves collect

I had a complete run of Nintendo Power magazines from 1987 (including the mini issues) to 2000 I also had tons of issues of Die Hard Game Fan, Electronic Gaming Monthly, GamePro, etc... In addition, I had tons of NES, SNES, Genesis, Turbo Grafx, Turbo Duo, Neo Geo, etc... lots of consoles/games I had been collecting since the early 80's up until 2000. --- and that's just the gaming stuff. I also had tons of Star Wars toys from the 70s, a near complete He-Man & Transformers collections, G.I. Joe, M.U.S.C.L.E, Wheeled Warriors, etc.. etc... basically, enough stuff to open my own store. Anyway... what had happened was I went away for school. My family ended up moving and put a lot of stuff in storage. They ended up keeping the storage unit for years, as they had moved several times. Eventually, my father passed away. My sister then agreed to take over the storage. By this time, I had also moved away. I figured my stuff was safe in storage so just left it all be. My sister had a ton of valuable items in storage as well. Eventually my sister got married. At some point, my brother-in-law said he would "take care of everything" for my sister. One of those things was agreeing to pay the storage. Some time later, I ended up back in town and had wanted to get my stuff out of storage as I had my own place. It turned out that my brother-in-law had lied that he was paying for storage. The unit ended up getting auctioned off. We didn't find out about it until well afterwards.

this is awesome. You all need a bigger store. become the blockbuster (in a good way) of retro gaming.

I can't even imagine how much money you spend to purchase these type of collections from people. How do you and the customer even come up with price without going through every single item and add it up? Which would take so much time.

That collection is crazy, but the one thing for me that I would prize most, would be the complete in box Mario RPG. I'm kicking myself as an adult for not only not keeping the cartridge as a kid, but for not keeping the box and everything. I'm pretty sure I just ripped that thing apart when I got it...😢
