Monday night the dolphins lined up the same way (obviously offsides) and nothing was called. Reid has coached 25,000 snaps without this penalty. Mahomes 5th most penalized team in 4th qtr. Toney lined up exactly like that every snap he was in and the refs waited until the worst possible most game deciding moment to throw the flag. Was KT offsides? Yes. Should the refs had been more consistent with their calls? Also yes. Mahomes handled himself wrong, but I understand the frustration. All game they go at it but on this key play Derwin finally gets him, and now the flag comes out for PI. Even the announcers themselves mention the lack of consistency since they've watched the two going head to head with tough push and shove football all game 😂 but now that it would cause the chiefs to cough up the ball and lose, the flag is out. You probably don't notice these things. Go back and watch it. Then there was that other game we're Mahomes got intercepted 4 times and they all came back , ball grazed the grass during the dividing interception etc etc. By the fourth one you just know the refs are looking thru a telescope to make sure Mahomes doesn't look bad. That's just against my team 😂. bet a lot of fans from other teams have their own rants.

Only thing I can guess is that Reid is trying to fix the receivers rather than openly criticize them and so the only way in the moment was to criticize the call...otherwise I can't explain it. Said player should clearly see he is offsides, as there are images of him directing his gaze toward the line. That call in the Chiefs game also happened in the Ravens Rams game. Tyan Wallace, who won the game with the punt return, was lined up in the neutral zone on the punt. Rams got an automatic first down. Rams then scored a touchdown to take the lead 28-23.

Not at all. A penalty is a penalty but there are big inconsistencies with what Refs bother to call, as well as the penalty's severity. A PI call is critical because it was extremely material to the game, as is a holding call, etc. Someone being lined up over an imaginary line, that is difficult enough to "see", but nearly impossible when you're lined up about as far from the ball as you can be, is a bit absurd. Pats got a SB ring they shouldn't have and Chiefs missed the SB because of a call like this....a finger over this imaginary line. Where was the whistle to stop the play?
