Good going Chris. When I had a 5000 I just used an external speaker but when I got the 6000, from day 1, I used the headphones. Makes you become more one with the machine and you are listening for those really faint signals. Well done on your hunt😁👍

You should check out the external speakers, the go around you neck and rest on your collarbone, light and loud. The hook up with a wire or Bluetooth

Hiya, Chris, Re: headphones; It's obvious that they're significantly helping your detection of weak signal targets, and that makes perfect sense. The trouble is, we can't hear & learn what those weak indications sound like. This also means that when we're watching you detect, it's not apparent what audible indication is sufficient to make you stop sweeping & start digging, and of course, we don't get the 'suspense' factor as you 'home in' on the target. I'm not saying that you should stop using headphones; only that they adversely affect the 'immersivity' of your video footage when you do. If you want to continue using them and have a friend with electronics skills, there are a number of ways you could get the detector audio component back into your video footage... or... only use headphones for the initial detection, then repeat & film without them, using the 'external' speaker, once you know roughly where your target is located. Just my thoughts.

THANK YOU! I have been bugging people for like 10 years to explain the digger hole phenomenon! Just tell us why nobody digs between?! No GOLD in the dirt between. it's on the bedrock at the bottom! OH, well that makes sense now, but when you look at a grid of 5 foot deep holes 6 feet apart, that's not what it looks like. Cripes I was always like "just get an excavator and a recirculating wash plant in there and take way more gold. Nope. they scrubbed the bottom... WOW. lol Now I have the answer, I am like "why didn't anyone EVER say anything?!" All good and again thank you!

Nice, persistence is the key, I bought a gold monster 1000 and just about hung it up after a few outings due to the amount of ground noise and hot rocks but a few more videos and some persistence I am finding stuff although I haven’t yet found any gold with it I have pulled up a few old bits of iron from back in the day and a 1966 2c coin that’s apparently worth more than 2c 🤣 Love the headphones the wife might let me watch detecting videos at home without the constant noise of a detector 👌

I never found any piece of gold metal detecting in my area, but I do not live in a region with natural gold. Anyway, hunting Roman coins and artifacts over the whole year, gives one a good idea when the soil conditions allow finding small and deep targets in an area which appeared empty in summertimes. Its always when the ground is wet, usually in winter and early spring when you get the best responses. Wet soil gives you extra depth and clearer signals, at least in my experience here in Germany. Was about to ask you if you had similar experiences in Australia, noting that you usually have to deal with dry soil. I usually change also frequencies down to about 17 kHz to get depth and low reaction time to give the detector time to process deep targets. Dunno if that is an option for the Goldmonster or whatelse machine you are using :) Lower frequencies help only for relatively large targets, tiny targets are only possible to find with high frequencies, so probably the better option for your gold :) Anyway, nice to see you finding nice gold pieces. Well done. Happy hunting, Chris.

Yup now you know why seasoned detectorist always have headphones on. And ya it works great for relics and coins to… great finds and cool looking bits thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼 p.s. bummer about the turtle. Over here back in the early 2000’s the BLM (bureau of land management) started sealing up old mines to protect people. In 8 years they managed to seal up 3000 mines of the 100,000-500,00 that are out there (most are unknown and a claim was never filed) but in 2006 a teenager found one with a 10 foot opening and thought he could jump across it…..ya he didn’t make it. It was quite an effort to recover his body from the 1000 foot deep shaft. ALWAYS get out of a mining area before dark. And keep your head on a swivel during the day.

Well done mate nice bits 👌👍Get in sink with your machine and you will tell the difference between gold and rubbish especially with headphones on 👌. I shit you not i have only filmed 4 rubbish targets in the last 18 months . I find its how the targets start to light up just as you come over them. Middle and end of the signal still sounds the same to me 👍

Nah, you're assuming that most of them are open. And you're assuming animals (for the most part) don't have survival instincts. The turtle couldn't see the hole because the railing has long grass around it. All holes without the railing are clear to see.
