A lot of people with curly hair, like this guys, know that regular co-washing is preferable to washing with shampoo as it dries the hair too much making it frizzy and dry (no matter what shampoo you use). Top dermatologists also recommend co-washing (or simply rinsing hair with water when showering) and only shampooing every few weeks for thick/curly/dry hair.

If Javier is living in Spain and even if he is living in the UK, the water in both places is pretty awful. Filled with minerals and pretty hard. It's terrible for anyone's hair, but for those with curls, it is totally damaging. Co-washing just adds a layer of whatever kind of conditioner to the minerals so that your hair never gets clean. I know this from experience. Same thing in Ireland. So much lime in the water.

@@cindyj5522 I’m not suggesting never washing your hair! Just using an emollient (conditioner) in between washing every couple of weeks or so depending on the person/lifestyle etc. The conditioner can be used as a cleanser when rinsed out with warm water, then styling products used afterwards. You are right about the water being hard in the most of the uk, I use a water filter on the shower attachment which helps a bit. Co-washing isn’t for everyone but when it works (as it does for me) then it’s a great option in between washing with a paraben and sulphate free shampoo.

I think it will look less greasy to you as it dries. I did not think it looked greasy, just wet. Before cutting, I think it had a wide bushy look. I see his handsome face more with this look, and the haircut looks so attractive on him.

I have the same hair as Javier. I know how hard it is to find someone to cut it who has a clue and it does not make is stupid. I have been cutting my own hair on and off for over 40 years. I (68f) love that you are describing what I have been doing for years with my curly hair. I wash thoroughly, slather on conditioner and leave until I finish my shower. I used to only wash my hair once a week when it was long, and I never used a hair dryer. Finger comb, scrunch, and air dry. And I go to a decent salon, so I get a more expert cut, because curly hair is not the same curling’s all over. Tricky to cut. Now that I am older, I have gone to short hair, but I apply the same principles still. The only change is that I wash my hair twice a week. I do notice that my hair texture is changing with each cut, maybe weird hormonal stuff, who knows?

Javier, your haircut is gorgeous. Your curls are beautiful and the cut frames your face much better. My hair is exactly like Javier's, except dark blonde. It really is difficult to find someone who knows how to cut curly hair. Blunt cut on me is a ball of Irish frizz. And proper products have made all the difference. I did the short hair when I was much younger and playing with wild colors. Now I like the option of pulling it back or up or braiding.

He could have been a model! That jawline & you could just tell he’d have the perfect stubble. But this is about the cut. I absolutely love your micro precision, Dan. I’m so fascinated by straight cutting vs point cutting! I have OCD. The hair would just keep getting shorter & shorter because I would never think it’s perfect!! Lol 🤣 I must have really fast growing hair! I can grow it out in like a year and a half! Is it different for men and women. I take 10,000 (micrograms?) of Biotin every day. I a only wash it once every week or two. It’s very dry naturally, but thick & healthy. I guess I’m just lucky. I’m so glad I’m not a man & have to deal with baldness.
