If you look at American cartoons, they were all based on the look Mickey started and Anime upon Astro. Also if you look at their friend group the comparison are more clear. About the Digimon Vs. Pokemon Death Battle, the guys at Death Battle made it a Season Finale for the sole reason to give Torrian Crawford (The guy who's been doing the 3D Death Battle Animations) a break due to how much he was working. When I told you he took inspiration from Monty, I wasn't kidding. Both of them have this habit of doing sooooooooo much work with little breaks. If that doesn't tell you how much they love what they're doing, Idk what does.

A good way of predicting these sometimes is looking at how old the character is, by which I mean how long ago they were created. Characters that have existed since the 1950's are often overpowered as hell because writers during that time looked at the laws of physics as suggestions rather than rules. That's why characters like Superman have feats such as sneezing away solar systems or hearing things from other planets.

While ignoring that the Cyberworld clearly isn't 1:1 compared to the real world and a single step and you could travel literally 1/3rd of the world and go from Japan/Electopia to the UK/Netopia (BN2). And that's just the most notable one.

They often made those earlier battles with the expectation that the viewer would be a, at least somewhat knowledgeable, fan of the respective combatants. That way it would feel like a some kind of sport event.

yeah Astro Boy is like Japan's Mickey Mouse. most manga and anime at the time was good but once Astro Boy came on the scene, it changed the face of the genre in a heartbeat. not to mention the man behind the bot made some pretty good series like Kimba the White Lion (a series well known for "insprising" The Lion King, but YourMovieSucksDOTorg went into way more detail why that's BS). but yeah, Osamu Tezuka made some well known and inspiring series that still inspires other well known series like Cyborg 009 or most Shonen series (that's a weekly series of Manga printed in magazines in Japan. a chapter of on going series like One Piece and Black Clover and the like.)

Also, Astro Boy is a manga character, not a video game character (you did the same thing with Guts). Also, Astro Boy is one of the OLDEST manga series in the world, starting in 1952 and created by Osamu Tezuka, AKA the God of Manga.

This video did actually make me think of a reaction recommendation. "Unraveled" by Polygon. The series is over, but it was a fun series of overanalyzing video games for very mundane things. The one related to this video is ranking every robot in the Megaman series based on how useful they are and whether they're worth giving sentience and risking a robot uprising. They're all over the top with research, hilarious with Brian's humor and charisma, and just overall entertaining with their presentation. Don't even need to know the game their analyzing, as I've never played a megaman game, but I love that video.

Something that may help with your guessing is simply pausing the video before the battle begins and thinking about what was said for a bit. Don't worry; tons of Death Battle reactors do this, and most of the community enjoys hearing the thoughts of the person watching. There have already been a number of battles I feel you would have gotten correct if you had longer than twenty seconds to pick a winner. They did leave a lot of feats out until the end. This battle is one of the bigger sufferers in that regard. However, given only their revealed feats, Astro Boy still definitely had the edge, so this one doesn't bother me quite as much as Beast vs. Goliath.

I agree with the death battle conclusion because mega-man had no way to damage Astro boy, for example: the atomic flare wouldn't work because, whilst it's as hot as the sun's surface, Astro boy survived going inside the sun

The original manga debuted in '51, then in 1963, they made the first anime adaptation. The anime got rebooted in 1980, and in 2003. In 2009, Imagi studios made a CG animated movie, that movie unfortunately did not do well and the studio shut down after the movie was made. But the series is still going on thanks to the fans.

Speed isn't this all encompassing factor that always settles things. You could be really fast, but if you can't back it up with power you may as well not fight at all. If the only thing you rely on is speed, you're going to lose more often than not. Unless you are literally the definition of speed made flesh, in which case, you're a pretty safe bet.
