I like this one for the fact that usually wiz says "this was a close one" and proceeds to say why the winner is 100 thousand times stronger, but in this one he says how this fight was fairly clear cut. Love that.

When Wiz says “this was a close one”, that means that the research made the battle hard to predict, at least until they calculated a feat that blew the other one out of the water. It’s not that the battle was close, per say, but rather the research was hard to determine.

To put it like this: Keiji Inafune, the man behind the Blue Bomber, was working on the X series, and planned X5 was gonna be the last one, however, when he left, Capcom made X6 out of Spite for Inafune, this of course led to a downward spiral of cancelled Mega Man games that left loyal fans very apprehensive. And to add salt in the wound, Inafune went on to make Mighty No.9, a game that promised to be a spiritual successor to Mega Man, But was delayed for over a year until it came and disappointed fans.

Then a team called Inti Creates, responsable for one of the most successful series on megaman history called Megaman Zero and mainline entries ZX and ZX Advent, made a game called Azure Striker Gunvolt which they made more of and it's basically their successor to Megaman now.

@@theduckgoesmoo very late comment for this, but in the old Megaman cartoon series, he absorbed abilities of other robots while they were still active, simply by touching their gun arms for like 2 seconds to download the weapon data. so it became a running theme of "oh no he got my weapon!" before Mega turns their own attacks back at them. except for Pharaohman, because he gave zero shits

Exe's brother actually earned most of the battle chips in Tournaments or derived the Chips from defeating enemies, (like the other Megamen.)

As a Megaman fan, I really enjoyed this death battle but it still irks me that Boomstick got one little bit of info wrong. It's not much, but Megaman.EXE isn't Lan's younger brother, but actually his older brother (and yes, I'm still upset over the fact that the anime and manga removed the fact that they're brothers entirely).

Yeah the two timelines go like this. The Classic (O.G, X, Legends) is where all of Wily's and Lights research favored Wily's Robotics. The Exe and StarForce Is where Light and Wily decided to focus on the internet and expanding it's use (while robots get pushed back, they are still a thing, and also funny enough, In MegaMan and Bass, There's CDs that have bios on each character and it states Dr.Light loves the internet)

You know, the Megaman series is one that I've always loved... In theory. I've only played Megaman X, X8 (which is considered to be awful), Starforce 1, and the Zero Collection (which I still haven't finished), and used Megaman as my go to fighter in Marvel vs Capcom 2. Yet, there's such nostalgia to the character for me. I had glimpses of the Ruby Spears cartoon, and watched the NT Warrior anime a lot when I was younger (which may or may not have influenced my enjoyment of more slim character designs). I'm really happy about the result of this battle (I basically was pulling for .Exe or Starforce to win). Do you have any plans to play any of the Megaman games?

Mmm, I don't think you quite get the Mega Man stuff _quite_ yet. Let's put it this way: Classic Mega Man was a robot originally meant to be a lab assistant that was then turned into the Blue Bomber we know. Doctor Light wanted to improve upon him, so he then created a new robot- effectively a Mega Man 2.0, this time dubbed Mega Man X. Volnutt being like the other two before him in any capacity is, frankly, a coincidence near as I can tell.

Starforce is definitely my favorite, but Battle Network has performed some INSANE feats. Keep in mind that in BN5, Megaman turned into Hub and with a single motion of his hand, erased the entire dark dimension that Regal used Nebula Grey to open. So at his best, BN Megaman can erase an entire universe with a mere thought.

Hey, let me explain what happened post black hole scene in the battle! X fired tge mother elf at Starforce. Starforce hacked and destroyed it and took over X's body from the inside out. Starforce used X's body to fire the red Gaia erasure. Exe blocked it went into hub form and destroyed X and exe. In short volnutt dies first, then classic, then X and finally starforce!

For clarification because for me and a good portion of people I have seen react to this don't get it on the first watch Volnut was killed in the blackhole Original was either killed in the blackhole or blown up by X X was possessed by Star Force and probably at that point dead Star Force died when Exe overkilled X's body which also destroyed Star Force

Battle Network Mega Man was the one I grew up watching. I also watched Star Force when that one came out. They're both pretty good. I also had most of the video games for Battle Network, and I had 2 of the 3 games for Star Force. Just never ended up getting the second game. I was a teenager without a job at the time it came out and just, didn't have the chance. Hmm. These shows and games get pretty crazy in scale though, it's awesome.

This one is interesting, in that I really don't think that they should have acknowledged most of those manga feats, but honestly even if they did it wouldn't have changed things that much. I was personally expecting Star Force to win, due to the black hole stuff, but I've also only played the first three battle networks, so I didn't know about Nebula Gray. Apparently there's argument on whether it's ACTUALLY a universe, but even then it gives credability to the manga feat. As opposed to X's regeneration. As far as I know, there is no reploid with regeneration abilities, at least not on that level. And since the later X games involve reploids that can copy the powers of all previous reploids, you would think they'd have sprung that one at least once if it existed. Even with his constant resurrection Sigma has to have a body built, he can't just grow one. That speed feat I'd sum up as "just no" but even without it he's still got the lead. I am curious how Volnutt compares in overall power though. Considering that he's made with post-ZX super technology, and I always considered Sera one of the strongest characters in the franchise, if not the absolute strongest. Mostly for symbolic reasons, given that she's basically the last one standing at the end of the timeline. She doesn't have much in the way of feats, but that alone earns her some major credit in my mind. However it's also possible that the overall powerlevel decreased somewhat, simply because they didn't need to build nukes into all their guards. Making the purifiers weaker and putting the real power into their satellite lasers and such. On that note; it refers to Volnutt as a carbon, but the game seems to go against that. He's biologically identical enough to pass for a carbon, but I think they are seperate species. I replayed the original legends (which is my favorite Megaman incidentally) rather recently, but haven't played 2 since around the time it came out. So I'm pretty foggy on that one. And about the legends 3 joke; basically legends 2 came out on the PS1, ended on something of a cliffhanger, and then the series went dormant. Finally Legends 3 was confirmed for the 3ds long after, the fans rejoiced, it had a special demo in Japan... and then behind the scenes Capcom stuff happened, Legends 3 was cancelled, and the entire franchise went dormant for a long time. All that aside, this one is probably in my top three episodes.

Hooboy. Something tells me this one is gonna be absolutely hellish to watch. Mega Man as a series has REALLY large power gaps between chunks of the series. Also, only partially related- Regarding Mega Man in Smash, the reason he was so hype was because people asked for him to join the fight for ages! Nowadays? He's just another fighter! His play style is what's called a Zoner, meaning he's comfortable keeping you away from him. However, he's also notable for having extremely fast, and similarly difficult combos, making him one of the highest skill-ceiling zoners in Smash! Personally I don't like fighting Mega Man in Smash, but I'll always be overjoyed that he's in the game. On another note to Mega Man, a video was released lately by Gamechamp3000 that I hope you check out! 'VG Myths - Can you Beat Rockman 3 Without Getting Hit?' She took a shitton of time to make that video, and it was frankly incredible.

I am willing to accept the result. I was torn between Starforce and Exe myself but I do have some issues with there logic and decisions. For one thing Starforce did not use any of his upgrades. Neither did Exe but Death Battle specifically mentioned Starforce's Red Joker and the end of Megaman does suggest the possibility he might I repeat might have lost the ability to use his most powerful upgrades besides DoubleSoul which he needs an ally to use. But if they draw attention to one of Starforce's powerups and yet not use it I can't help but have doubts that they had Starforce not use the full capability of his abilities. If Starforce could not use it then either not mention it when going over his abilities or mention at the end that he lost it. Another thing I have to take issue with is their use of Exe winning because of his speed feat. I read the manga and double checked just now and that moment is not a good use as an example of his speed because the scene shows a spectral version of Exe separating from his body and it's the spectral version that search's the net. That implies that it wasn't Exe traveling the net but his consciousness separating from his body to travel through the net and the speed of his consciousness does not equal how fast his body moves. Again I can see Exe winning I guessed Starforce myself but I can see plenty of reasons why Exe would be the superior of the two I just want to point out that the reasons death battle used have some flaws. Feel free to agree or disagree.

I'm a month late, but the reason they didn't use Red Joker in the battle is due to time and budget constraints Death Battle always has to balance time and budget with getting the episode out. It's a pretty common thing with many Death Battles For example, Gray VS Esdeath. In the episode, they make a mention of Esdeath's ice mech, and it didn't show up in the battle. Additionally, in the resulting Death Battle Cast Q&A, they straight up say they wanted to add Esdeath's ice mech and Gray's Ice Make Unlimited, but couldn't due to time and money limits

The answer to this is simple, they only have so much time for animation, so they can only show so many things. Both Starforce and EXE's Battle Chips and Cards total over 2000! There is no way they can display all of those in a battle with only the budget for around three minutes of animation.

Yeah, aside from Archie Sonic and The Flashes, I think Mega Man.exe is the fastest character to ever appear on Death Battle. I got a small chuckle out of how you mixed some of the megas up. But there is one mistake you made that I have to correct. X is not a prototype of Mega Man Classic. He was designed after Classic and is canonically stated to be superior to them in every way (which pretty much guaranteed Classic was doomed to fail in this battle). So if anything, the original Mega Man is a prototype of X.

My guess was also starforce Megaman because I knew about his strength feats and I underestimated how large .EXE's cyberverse was. I'm sure you're beginning to realize this from other comments, but Ben 10 VS Green Lantern is going to be one to be careful with the comments section for. It's easily the most controversial Death Battle of all time; the vast majority of serious VS Debaters agree with the result, and the vast majority of, well, everyone else disagree. I'll probably write my own small essay on why they were right, as many other will write why they were wrong. Just be ready with the Delete Comment hammer; I've yet to see a single video covering the fight that hasn't turned into a flame war in the comments.

Yeah, to my knowledge .exe’s speed feat has yet to be topped in Death Battle. Unless I’m misremembering, there isn’t a single stat for any category which ever goes beyond that for now. But yeah, I liked this battle, didn’t love it though. I was never attached to Mega Man, and I also had trouble distinguishing between them.

The plump green Mega Man near the beginning is from Captain N, a cartoon about a teen who got pulled into the video game world, where he fought alongside classic Nintendo heroes against their villains. Fun concept, bad delivery, stupid representations of the characters, as evidenced by Mega Man's wrong color and speech impediment (he'd used "mega" in every sentence). Good to know about, but generally worth ignoring

Personally my favorite mega man isn't even in this lineup... It's future Zero from the Megaman Zero games... If this where a battle of endurance he would win without exception... He spent over a year battling an army that spans over a desert wasteland of an earth without rest or repairs... He's also technically the one who puts the Maverick virus down for good... Which at that point in time had been infecting his original body and was being used by the single most evil being in the series history... (Basically the antichrist)

As for Zeros body I can't help but thinking that is a mute point, the entirety of Zeros development as a character is about being greater than the sum of his parts... Omega is technically the real Zero in both body and soul, Wily never cared about what Zero would want or could become... He simply was meant to reduce the population down to... Well... Zero... Wily simply made Zero as a vessel for the cyberized Evil Virus (His consciousness) to help him rule the world from beyond the grave... We know Omega throughout the X series as Sigma who was his primary host... In the Zero series it's vaguely implied that Dr.Wile/Vile (One of the first cybernetically enhanced humans) is the host of Dr.Wily's consciousness after coming into contact with Zeros body when he was helping X to develop the Mother Elf... As for the Zero we know he was basically born when Sigma smashed his data cristal on his forehead and allowed him to finally have free will for the first time in his existence... Zero as we know him was never wanted let alone needed by his creator, but he grew to surpasses him in every way...

I love the intense battle this one had and its OST, but I'm against the results, and in my opinion Starforce should've won. Here's my reasons: - the first question I had was 'Are the mangas canon to any of the Megaman stories'? If not, then they should've focused on the games canon features; so, .EXE's speed feature shouldn't be possible, and its anime features should've followed the same road (that includes the Cross Fusion technique not being used and the rewritting universe feat). I heard recently that the .EXE manga contradicted the games at least 5 times, using tools out of game order, transformations and Full Synchro can be used by others when in reality it's only to Lan and Megaman because of their mental link. - They said .EXE is able to resist program alteration, when in fact in the games, in this case Battle Network 5 and 6, he was exposed to corruption and transformed into Megaman Dark Soul and Cybeast Mode, and he only was able to be restored thanks to Lan, NOT by himself. - why Starforce didn't used his transformations? The Black Ace transformation is capable of slicing a black hole. We should've seen Geo using that after escaping X's body to attack .EXE - even if the Cyberworld is a quote-on-quote "universe", they shouldn't compare it to our own universe. - after the events of Nebula Gray, Hub form is never used again, and if we put .EXE at its latest game (BN6), then Hub form shouldn't have been used in this fight. In conclusion, the battle was great, but the results should've been different
