The reason for hanging the queen could possibly be, that the player who hung his queen, was also trying out Shogi (Japanese Chess), and in Shogi, pawns move forward and capture forward, and he could've mixed up how pawns work.

I like how I laugh at people making “dumb” mistakes that levy points out when realistically I (an 800 at best) make mistakes 10x worse than the ones he points out on a consistent basis. Edit: case in point, in the first game I didn’t even see the pawn could take the queen until Levy pointed it out
