The entire problem is that we're trying to dictate a private moment between two individuals in which the negotiate a gendered interaction. I generally treat trans people exactly how they wish to be treated...but if some activists are trying to write FEDERAL LAWS which mandate me, under the threat of force, to refer to people in a certain way if I don't believe they are deserving of that, that is dangerous and it is already happening in NYC and Canada.
