Rob Kaman is a true legend of martial arts, but unfortunately, the general public is only vaguely familiar with him. We hope our video will help change that. We've compiled all available footage from the archives of the 80s and 90s. Enjoy!

I dislike when people bring MMA into everything else, as if Bruce Lee would not have adapted, etc. But going in the other direction, even the best leg kickers in the MMA, and I really don't know who that would be, mainly because you don't see people dropping people with leg kicks. So, that's my point. You just don't see that. The fact that he was doing that against even Muai Thai people says a lot. If someone in the MMA had results like he did with leg kicks, they'd be a formidable opponent.

I remember this guy .. I was so saddened by his death this year. I loved watching him fight. So much so that I got so mad when he fought Rufus in his style but Rufus refused him at Muay Thai. Rufus knew those low kicks would make a huge difference. Without those Rob couldn't use his awesome weapon. Growing up watching him was awesome. He was one BAD DUDE for sure. My grandpa loved him cause he fought ALL that they put in front of him and in their styles. Even if it meant he was at a disadvantage. You don't see that nowadays. Fighters don't take those risks. This was an awesome short film and WOW did it bring back a flood of emotions and memories with my grandpa and my father when we watched Rob. Those were some great times. @Glenn-m1t .. Roufus remembered the beating he took in 1988 from Changpuek Kiatsongrit... and even in that fight, the Thai fighter was banned from using his elbows and knee strikes. I think Roufus thought he could KO him by taking away his powerful weapons but Kiatsongrit took his best and by the 4th round Roufus was running away from those leg kicks until he could no longer stand on them and fell to the canvas losing by TKO.

The only person today who likely kicks as hard is perhaps Joe Rogan. And Joe is a commentator! Gotta love him for his fighting etiquette; for not waiting for the ref or the bell to stop punching and like many fighters "like" to do, throwing a barrage of imprecise and basically blind, what I like to call " follow-up double-tap punches". You know, like with a gun, just squeeze out one more for good measure, just to make sure the opponent is out for good or just out of a fighting frenzy. He knew exactly when his opponent had enough and rather threw one punch too few than one too many. I don't remember a single match in which he had to be told or even forcibly removed from his opponent, other than by a light push on the arm by the ref, demonstrating restraint and, what is known to be one of the most important core values of Muay Thai, on every single of his steps along the way: Genuine and, most importantly, mutual respect amongst opponents. No punching down and no intentionally causing unnecessary bodily harm beyond what is to be expected from a regulation match. 😁 That's just professionalism, experience and exemplary sportsmanship. 👏🏻

I am from Holland, thank you for uploading this . All fighters in this world, should know about this hero and that the Dutch are the best kickboxers in the world..❤

Sadly the Dutch government got rid of kickboxing with their ridiculous rules. Past glory, now a shell of its former self.

ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING video! I have been in some form of martial arts/combat training since I was 2 years old. I am now 54 years old and - unbelievably - I have NEVER heard of Rob!🤦♂️ He is a true martial artist and I am in absolute awe of what he was able to accomplish, and his incredible fight IQ, and the ability to use his God-given talents and work ethic and determination to be… him! Respect to this warrior!

A Redo of Healer reference was not expected in this video, but I respect it. That fight with Rufus might be the most brutal fight I’ve ever seen, I’m very thankful y’all showed me this dude’s career. Never would have known about him otherwise, and he truly is a legend.

I had no idea Rob was gone. What a tragic loss of a true legend. My sympathies to his family. RIP Mr. Low Kick.

@@jonaswhale6451Depends. The Boomers of that era are known to be super tough and gents. But the gen X fighters from that same era had the same cokiness that modern fighters do. I guess being a kid in the late 60's-70's was a lot tougher than being a kid in the 80's, which makes sense because the 80's had a new age toys and cartoons and various sources of entertainment and less seperatism and hardships, which may have pampered the next generation, hence why fighters started to show off and act like primadonnas. All of a sudden you had real life Ric Flairs in combat sports.

Thats a fact. These dudes today dont fight a quarter of the fights these dudes did. Its undeniable there is a built in tolerance for brutal hits when u fight a lot. Those fights w rufus and mr perfect show that clearly. Ive never seen ufc guys take more than 1 kick to the head and continue to be competent. These dudes each took like 20 knockout shots in a ufc ring and didnt get knocked out. Silly little gen z down here showing their ignorance for all the world to see

You’re right I never did hear this man, but I sat tonight and watched this video as a past fighter myself. I’m marbled in the talent, determination and raw mannerisms regarding the sport of fighting rest in peace my brother and to your son I could only imagine how proud you must be, and the man that you must have become good night to you all and your family
