Fun Fact: In order to get Jone's tentacle beard to look good, the director pulled footgae from the 1960s King Kong vs Godzilla. This is because one of the scenes had a real life octopus moving on the ground, thus providing good references for the tentacles.

19:44 you probably already knew this but... Fun Fact: Johnny Depp actually fell down the stairs and improvised this scene when shooting. The looks that Orlando and Kiera give are legit as this entire "jar of dirt" scene was improvised.

Okay, the compass thing wasn't a wild retcon. In the first movie, after Jack and Will set sail from Tortuga, Will asks Gibbs how they're supposed to find an island that "cannot be found" with a compass that doesn't point north - to which Gibbs responds "Aye, the compass doesn't point north...but we're not trying to find north, are we?" That is enough to suggest that there's something unusual about the compass.

o yeah the jar of dirt was completely improved. and yes the reactions where genuine. everyone was like: the hell just happened? and the director just kept it all in. as it felt in character for jack sparrow. also also his drunk walk makes sense. as ships often rock back and forth.

I am here again to request that you react to the Nostalgia Critic review to Prince of Egypt for celebration of Easter next month as that film is really good made by an animation studio that has started to pick up again with a cat film last year. Also, the way Davy Jones looks is still really good CGI even for today's standards and really cool to see it play out.

It's funny, aside from the first movie, the biggest thing I remember regarding the Pirates franchise isn't even related to the movies themselves. It was when I went to Blockbuster once as a teen and rented a movie called "Pirates" thinking it was going to be some Pirates of the Caribbean knockoff. Turns out it was hardcore pornography. Somehow hidden in a Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn't even carry adult films! Since then, that's what comes to mind first when I think about the PotC franchise~

- Fun facts: The jar of dirt scene was improvised by Johnny Depp and none of the actors knew Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa was returning. So all those reactions from the cast were legit - Not sure why Doug has such a problem with the compass. Nothing in the 1st one contradicts it. Also he complains about Will and Elizabeth yet the movies without or with little of them are the two worst ones - 20:43 Disney was planning an female lead pirate movie starring Margot Robbie but seems like someone realised how stupid that would be and the project is seemingly dead

In hindsight Will being the main character explains I lot since he was my favorite. Don’t get me wrong I love Jack and legitimately thought he was the MC but I always considered him the comedic relief and while Orlando could’ve played Will better the lore around him interested me more.

..... He's a Black Smith Aprentice that is obsessed with Saving a girl he's fantasied about daily, and a person he has never been and has been a lie his entire life with no connection or memories of. His story fucking sucks. there is NOTHING interesting about Will at all. Jack is a MUCH better and more interesting person, which is why everyone loves him more than the other characters. Followed second by Barbossa, and finally by Davy Jonas. Will and Girl he likes are so low on the poll of 'liked characters', that people latch onto the nameless background side villains more than them who are part of the 'main cast'.

@@Jirodyne He literally starts his story being found drifting at sea with a McGuffin and after mistaking his girlfriend for having the connection to the McGuffin it turned out Will was the one with the connection all along and he learns to balance both parts of his life. Meanwhile Jack has wacky shenanigans that do lead into important plot stuff but not as initially and unlike Will who has to adjust to his new life Jack already had that under control. I don’t care what you say, Will’s story interests me more than funny man that I enjoy solely for jokes.
