Salazar had so much potential as an antagonist. They could have given him almost as much depth as Davy Jones, perhaps more. Even in the context of this somewhat goofy universe, most pirates still murdered , pillaged and raped everywhere they went ,while giving no mercy when the opportunity presented itself. For all terms and purposes, Salazar was just a man who said that enough was enough and decided to actually *do* something about it. Did that end up turning him into something as bad as the pirates he hates? Yeah, sort of, but you can't deny the results! Even decades after his death, pirate lords like Barbossa brick their pants at the mere *mention* of his name. If Davy Jones was the *devil* to pirates, Salazar was their *boogeyman.*

16:27 - NC skiped my favorite part of coversation between Salazar and Barbosa. *Salazar:* You don't know, who i am. *Barbosa:* I've heard stories of a Mighty Spanish Capitan. El Matador Del Mar. A man who skirts the sea. Hunted and killed Thousands of Men. *Salazar:* No, no, no. Men, no, no. No. Pirates! By that scene, Salazar sais that he doesn't sees Pirates as People. 19:23 - In that scene Barbosa explains that he left Carina in orphanege with Ruby and Notebook in hope, she will sell them to start a life on her own. Instead Carina lived her whole life in delusions about Father Scientist. 20:30 - Salazar actually said that he hates Sparrow.

The design of Salazar's ship is probably one of my favorites in the series. It's literally an undead first-rate ship-of-the-line that eats other ships. Easily the most creative antagonist ship since the Flying Dutchman and the Kraken. That said, the movie has several plot holes that bring it down, let alone the fact I think more could of been done with Salazar's crew. Yes, they're undead sailors, but they aren't pirates unlike the previous times an undead or cursed crew is featured. I would have liked to see his crew redeemed while Salazar himself succumbed to his own madness of wanting to kill Jack.

I have come one last time to say, now you have to react to the NC review on "The Prince of Egypt", what with the way that he made two jokes about that film in this review, and the fact that he might review another film this week that was made by the same company that made prince of Egypt and the next one. Also fit well coming with Easter week this Sunday. Like I said last week, this film is the one I remember the most out of all the sequels, and yes there was going to be a sixth film that had Davy Jones as the next villain in the next film, but they got cancelled due to Depp's situation, and the all-female pirates movie with Margot Robbie seems to also have been cancelled as well. How quickly that Pirates movies was a cultural phenomenon when I was younger, but now nobody wants to talk about them anymore these days.

This really is the only one I actually hate. First 3 love. 4th was meh. This one however - Jack is just a straight idiot in this. Unlike the previous ones where he acts buffoonish but always has a plan in his head or on the way, here? Naw just a dumbass with dumb luck - It's filled with retcons. Like it was established in the 2nd that Jack got the compass from Tia Dalma yet this film says apparently he had it all his life. Or how giving away it releases Salazar (for some reason) yet he given it to others repeatedly on the series. Or how Will is turned into part of the ship when it was established in only happened if he wasn't doing his duty right. The end credits in the 3rd film showed he was fine in those 10 years. And his son at the start surly can't be much older than then - Salazar is just a boring mix of every other villain - If there was a way to free Will, like hell Elizabeth wouldn't do anything to find it in all those years. It should had been her instead of the son and forgettable female character - The Trident itself is just ridiculous.Something that can break every sea curse? Why didn't Barbossa or Jones have look? It's not like they didn't have the time - With Pirate month done you could check out so of the others like X Men, Spider Man, Terminator or the rest of Dark Knight month

The first movie could stand alone, no question in that. The others were very much hit and miss. I found this movie a bit more hit than miss though as surprising as that might be. But yeah without Jack sparrow the series is dead. That would be like no Burt Gummer in a Tremors movie.

5:08 Don't worry, we're confused as you are. This movie just straight up retcons Will's curse like he's turning into Davy Jones despite the fact he's been doing his job guiding spirits to the underworld for a decade, something Davy Jones didn't do when his lady love cheated on him. There is other werid retcons like Jack betraying his compass released the villain despite the fact he didn't have several times with him in the past movies. Tho you can argue he loaned briefly or it got stolen, he didn't technically "betray" it. I disagree on the Critic's rant about the Trident not being explained. It was mention early on that Henry Turner wanted to free his father from the curse while Salazar wanted to be back as a normal human, just like the plot of the 1st movie. All these retcons and other stuff is why most consider this the worse of the 5.

It's weird that this and Transformers parallel each other. The 1st one is the best. The 3rd one is like the grand finale of the series. 4th one came out of nowhere with a brand new plot with only a fraction of the cast returning and it ends with sequel hooks that either go nowhere or gets completely retconned. The 5th one has some of the missing cast members that were missing in the 4th one returned. Also it is full of numerous plot breaking retcons that screws up the franchise and as far as we know, this is the the last film.

Btw, speaking of Mance Raydor, I wish Ciaran Hinds had been cast as Bootstrap Bill over Stellan Skarsgard. Not to bash Stellan as a actor, but Ciaran would've fixed the problem with everyone claiming Bootstrap and Will look alike.

As I mentioned before this was the start of an ongoing finale. It has been six years since. I doubt they’ll get Johnny back after the whole debacle with Amber and Disney making the wrong choice, though I can’t blame them as they were serious allegations against him. I am sure they can get someone to fill his shoes like they did with the Fantastic Beasts movies though. They were basically Harry Potter prequels in case you didn’t know. Note: do not have a novelist make a screenplay, it’s hard to adapt. Should’ve been a book series. Also I want to clarify something from yesterday. I watch KZbin on my TV so my Opera GX Adblock has no effect so you still get your money. Nothing to worry about.
