Something I always appreciated about this movie is that whereas everyone else is at the Fountain for a selfish reason , the Spanish , who up until that point had been minor antagonists at best, are revealed to be there to *destroy* the Fountain as they believed that mankind shouldn't have access to something that powerfull. That combined with the sacrificial nature with which the Fountain gives people longevity technically makes them the only *"good guys"* in the whole situation. Which is pretty cool tbh.

Funny Trivia about the german Dub: Johnny Depp usually gets voiced by VA David Nathan (who also voiced Piccolo in DBZ and multiple Batmans and Roy Mustang). He almost voiced Depp in Pirates 1 But at the end they choose the VA Marcus Off For Pirates 1, 2 and 3 After Pirates 3 became a massiv Hit he demanded a bigger payment. He even sued Disney and HE WON ! In Pirates 4 David Nathan took over the Job

I am back with another week to recommend that you react to NC review on "Prince of Egypt" film during Easter week, which will be right after NC reviews the fifth and final Pirates film later this week. I have to say that I don't really remember much of this film wither, as the film I remember the most after the 3rd film was the 5th one Dead Man tells no Tale, as that film made me remember more things than this one ever did.

Sad thing is, I recognize the bargain bin Will Turner replacement, and the actor is actually pretty good! He turned in a solid, nuanced performance in the Hunger Games sequels as Finnick just a couple years after this. Between him and Black Beard, it seems like we're dealing with a case of poor direction here

Ian Mcshane I first saw in a role called Lovejoy! It was about an antique dealer named Lovejoy played by Ian! From the first time I saw it, he was one of my favorite actors! And in this movie yeah he just is there!

It's absolutely forgettable, and this is the only movie in this franchise I completely agree with Doug on. I saw this movie and barely remembered any of the characters or plot outside of Jack or Barbosa within minutes of the ending credits.

@@theSpartan187 Maybe the fifth is underrated, I wouldn't know, because I dropped out after movie four. Like, the only scene I have even the faintest memory of from this movie is Jack and Barbosa on that ship that they need to balance. I also will never find out if five is worse than this because the fourth was so unremarkable and boring that it completely killed any faith I had in the franchise, and the interest I had in it's continuation. Thus I will never watch movie four again, nor will I watch five to find out if it is worse, because I am no longer capable of caring. I still love the first three, but as far as I'm concerned, four and five might as well not exist.

Will was only the main character in the 1st few movies, it's Jack's turn now. Also Will too busy right now on being tasked to guide dead spirits to the afterlife for 10 years and if he doesn't abandon to his mission while Elizabeth remains faithful to him, he can be released of his duties and go back to his wife. If they screw this up, well Will and his crew will be cursed to turn into sea monsters.

Went to check the development of the movies to see if there were any more and apparently the next film was meant to be the the first in a multi part finale but the sixth is still waiting to be announced. They also announced a spin-off in 2020 with a female lead played by Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad) but it was pushed back to focus on a sequel. There was also a short film released the same year as this one that served as a prequel to the first film.

8:37 - 10:23 Compared to the most recent Blackbeard portrayal we got, who sang *NIRVANA* in a Peter Pan prequel, I think Ian McShane is very underrated as Blackbeard. It's like expecting a Tim Curry from Muppet Treasure Island when you were told you'd be getting a Frank Langella from Cutthroat Island. Just be glad you didn't get a worse option than *this* guy.

This movie... has SO MUCH WASTED POTENTIAL! The plot of the Fountain of Youth is gold, but seems to pass as the second goal, being more focused on the characters. The villain, is so good on paper: take this scene, when the mutinee is stop by his arrival, he asks for the responsible of such mess. Jack raises his hand and screams "me! It was me!" but is ignored (class smartypants style), so Blackbeard choses another scapegoat, sends in a boat and gives him a headstart from his flame cannons from which he doesn't manage to escape. THINK OF IT! Jack was willing to take the blame to avoid that someone could die this horribly. If this doesn't scream "badass villain" nothing can... and then you have the performance... that completely nullifies this statement. They were just scrapping the surface, like the post-credit scene says. Agreeing with Critic: the Mermaids are the most memorable part, being both Mermaids and Sirens combined. The perfect mix of the two species. The following movie... is a bit lazy, to be fair. The plot is not that interesting, but I feel the characters are a bit more interesting, mostly in their development.

It's my second-favorite as well. I guess it's probably because it was the FOURTH one and they had to follow up that whole crazy Davy Jones saga of the last two. I dunno, I found the (relative) simplicity of Jack just having his own side adventure pretty refreshing after all that.

I forget why he was there as it's been a few years since I've watched the movie but I think he just got shoed in for crew replacement with everyone else or something. As to what happened to him, he and the captured mermaid fell in love, she kisses him which allows him to breathe underwater and they get out of this movie as fast as they could.
