@FLQueerLiberal19822 ай бұрын
Actually, her first album was a complete failure. It would not have registered 1/10 of a decibel if record sales, airplay, and singles sales were measured in sound. But it was probably because she was styled and stifled by the record company. They told her what to sing and packaged her, rather than letting her be an artist. Until she met that mutt, uh, Mutt Lange. Who said if he was her producer, he'd let her write her own songs. That's when she charged in.a

This song launched her into absolute stardom. The summer this video came out she won “best bare midriff”and the whole world was on notice that Miss Shania had arrived. She has so many songs y’all still need to get to. Some of my favorites are “The Woman in Me” and “If You’re Not in it for Love, I’m Outta Here”. Please don’t take too long to get back to Shania.

You need to do Gonna Getcha Good and Party For Two. She grew up in Timmins, ON, which is very rural. Of course Canada does country. We are more than cold and snow. 😮😮😮 If you do I Gotta Getcha Good, I’d suggest a live version. She is totally lost in the official music video which distracts hugely from her and the song.

When I was in my twenties I was living with a couple of cowboys going to school out west. Both of them hated this song on the radio. They kept saying, my woman won't do that or that, etc. Then one day they were walking by the TV and suddenly they saw this song. Neither one said anything for the whole video. Then they both agreed that for a woman like her, they would agree to her terms. Don't worry, that was the start of their slight growing up.

Lol - I’d say she had the same effect on me. Her confidence, energy, and stunning beauty… she came on the country music scene like she was shot out of a cannon. Plenty of beautiful ladies in country music over the tears, but nobody with the same type of appeal as Shania. She turned guys into putty.

I just saw this video from you earlier today. Thank you for finally reacting to this after I suggested it 11 Months ago, on your "That Don't Impress Me Much" reaction video. Back when I was a kid, I was into Country music, and I was watching CMT - Country Music Television, this video came on called, "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under", I watched the video, and fell in love with the singer LOL. Sometime later, I was watching CMT again, and a different video came on, and it was THIS, and I was like, " OMG, this Woman is beautiful". And then it clicked, "Wait a minute...this is the same Woman from, "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under". I was smitten for YEARS! I had a friendly argument with my, at the time, Brother-In-Law because he liked Faith Hill. He would say she was better looking, and I would say Shania was better looking...and other things. Not too long after that I was reading something that favored my opinion, and Shania won the War.

Little sea-town trivia for y’all. In 1995 there was a Seattle country station, 96.5 YOUNG COUNTRY. One of the DJ’s there (Wynn Richards. aka Uncle Wynn) created a mashup of this song and Def Leppard’s “pour Some sugar on me”. They played it on air for a few weeks. It was actually quite good for a mashup. Until both Shania’s and DL’s record companies got wind of it. They sent a cease and desist letter to the DJ. Why the mashup in the first place? Well Shania’s husband then was Robert “Mutt” Lange who produced P.S.S.O.M and rest of the hysteria album of course. Guess Uncle Wynn thought it would be cute.
