Dale Lafleur, a resident of Port Barre, Louisiana, mysteriously vanished on July 13, 2011. He was last seen leaving his home in the 2600 block of Bayou Road at 5:00 p.m., driving a distinctive 1991 blue Mazda Miata convertible with gray primer and a soft black top. The car bore a Louisiana handicapped license plate, number 320729. Alarmingly, Dale left behind his beloved dog and an unlocked trailer home, both of which were very uncharacteristic of him.
Despite his recent cancer diagnosis, his family firmly believed that he wouldn't have taken his own life. The mystery deepened when, in May 2017, a shocking confession emerged. Dale's 23-year-old grand-nephew, Philip Foster Lafleur, admitted to the heinous crime of murdering his great-uncle. The motive? A dispute over money that Dale had allegedly promised but never delivered.
Philip's confession didn't end there. He was already in custody for another murder, that of Akeem Adiddias Ceasar, who had disappeared from Eunice, Louisiana in December 2015. Philip revealed that he had disposed of Dale's body by buckling it into the passenger seat of the Mazda and driving it into the Atchafalaya River across from Krotz Springs. Despite extensive searches, Dale's car and body remain undiscovered.
In this video, the team from "Adventures With Purpose" embarks on a mission to uncover the truth and hopefully locate Dale's final resting place. With the help of local sources, they explore various potential locations along the river, using advanced scanning technology and diving expertise. Their journey is not just about solving a cold case but also about bringing closure to a grieving family.
Join us as we dive deep into the waters and the mystery of Dale Lafleur's disappearance. Every clue unraveled and every discovery made brings us one step closer to the truth.
Watch the full video to witness our search and the challenges we face in this heart-wrenching case.

Hey there Jared 👋 So I'm from Eunice. Unfortunately, I was actually one of Phillips friends when we were in middle school and Jr high. He was always a very troubled kid. His father was also incarcerated. At some point he started saying that he wanted to one day be in the same cell block as his father and would ensure he got there. I as well as many others speculate that he committed these crimes in order to make that happen. Or "confessed" to a crime to make it happen. Akeem was beloved by everyone who knew him. He was a light in many lives. It's terrible what Phillip did to him. It's funny you mentioned a possible "accomplice", Candice was known to have some part in akeems murder but to what extend nobody truly knows. What enrages our entire city to this day is that Candice actually didn't receive a harsher sentence. She currently isn't serving any time for the crimes we all believe she committed. She has tried to maintain innocence even though the details of all the relationships between them would point to her being directly involved if not the instigator. Just a little insight from someone who is from Eunice. Thank you for all you do for others ❤️ I have been an avid follower of yours and I commend you for your hard work and efforts made in bringing peace to families.

Coming from the other side of the pond where we don't have AWP type teams working cold cases, I have been watching AWP continuously since finding you. I'm intrigued by the process of how you go about searches, the scans, (Im now watching and almkst saying 'Thats a tree, thats a rock, go back over it at a 45, etc' while your scanning, I have learnt about the scans and find it very very intresting. I love the dives and the communication between everyone during not just dives to check a vehicle out, but right through the entire cases to the end. The content has become so much more professional. the quality of the camera work and post editing is great! I wish that I would be able to take part in searches and do the things you all do! As you said, you can't think like a murderer and try and get into the mindset of how the person could do such a thing let alone getting rid of the body, the person would have to be seriously mentally ill. Sadly in our country (The UK), Life sentence doesn't always commute to the Perp being locked up for life unless stipulated by the court. Your tireless work is amazing to follow and be part of, even in a small way. Take good care of yourselves, don't do to much without taking some sort of downtime and remember to talk to others about things to help release any unwanted trauma feelings that can build up from constantly dealing with the same things regularly. Take care all of you, much respect, Paul (UK)

Hi Jared and crew! My 2 cents is that Phillip didn't dump the car and his uncle in the river. I agree with you that he would have needed an accomplice if he had because 12 miles is too far to walk back in the dark. It's possible that he just hasn't revealed who the accomplice is, however the river has been searched more than once and nothing has been found. I agree that there are two more likely scenarios. He either dumped the car and his uncle closer to home, or he dumped his uncle in the river and sold the car. I wish there was some way to trace car sales that far back! Anyways, thank you for doing what you do!

Love your video's and what you guys do. My cousins bf and sister/bf went missing after dropping her off from a double date. They were all still in hs. It was nearly a yr before a school bus driver noticed the top of a vehicle in a creek that had been out of banks for quite some time. This was 30 to 40 yrs ago. For some reason they drove off the road into the flooded creek and was found with the vehicle. I believe the local lake was searched but I'm not sure due to so much flooding and of course they didn't have sonar. But fortunately and sadly they were found. So I'm extremely interested in your video's. And thank you for all you guys do. But I truly worry about PTSD for you guys. Everything is so emotional, please take care.

Early on Jared says something that stuck with me and maybe explains this. If Philip is responsible for more deaths, he might not want to tip his hand on where he dumped the other vehicles. When you're in prison for life, I would think you would hang on to whatever info you could for future leverage, maybe just to get another field trip, who knows. So if he dumped more than one vehicle in the same place, why give up all the info at once? He found a good place to dump vehicles, so he used it more than once. Now, he knows that if they find one, they find them all and he's not ready for that yet.

@ShannaDuval
@ShannaDuval 7 ай бұрын
I completely agree with you both. Unfortunately they do something quite often that is probably the only thing that they’ve made a habit of doing that I disagree with immensely. They are searching for a specific vehicle and a specific person and their so talented and experienced at what they do that most of them can actually make out at least the type of vehicle, suv, truck, cargo van, mini van, sedan, race car, and so on, just by looking at it on their different types of sonars, sometimes multiple times. Either way they can make an educated guess on if it’s what their looking for. If it’s not, they leave it, they don’t even attempt to dive it and look for victims or bodies and keep moving. But their whole thing is that their working to bring closer to the families of missing cold case victims. But do those potential victims and their families not matter just because they haven’t been contacted or heard about it? Or because whoever their looking for is the only reported missing person suspected to be located in that area due to an investigation by law enforcement? And if that’s the reason it upsets me even more because then I feel like those people aren’t important enough to be found by them because they didn’t have anyone that cared enough or maybe didn’t know that they needed to be reported missing. I really wish they would explore any and all confirmed sunk vehicles to at least check and make sure their isn’t a body in it.

A Miata is a pretty light car,with that river raising and lowering it carries a strong current like the Mississippi does,it may be further down river than you think!!

It's also pretty flat with a soft top convertible, it can easily be filled in with silt and sediment from the river and buried quickly unlike other cars we found.

Not saying he was but if he was needing the money for drugs especially meth and he was high then that would explain a lot. Would also explain that he could of gotten confused on the location where he dumped tha body/car . Probably high as a kite when he did this.

Such a great channel and a greater cause, I really love watching your work as it's 100% real, I do think that the were misleading law enforcement in hopes the body will disappear and no one will look for it anymore, Or maybe he was covering up for his girl. Everything possible these days

I got a question, I'm wondering why you guys won't dive on that SUV/pickup truck on its side and try to get the license plate? It might solve another case. Just wondering if there is a particular reason not to dive for it? Honest question, appreciate and admiring what you guys are doing! Keep up the great work 👍🏻

It has been shared in several videos in the past that AWP compiles a list of known missing persons and their vehicle info prior to beginning a search. Based on the 1 in 101 odds in Pittsburgh, PA in Oct 2022 that located Tod DiMinno's car there is a 99.7% chance the vehicle is clear. GPS location and sonar images are shared with local authorities prior to leaving the area. ❤ 😊

@@judi_just_judiexcept they weren't looking for Todd. If I'm correct I don't think they even knew about Todd, otherwise I'm pretty sure Jacob (chaos divers) wouldn't have thought he was a woman. They found him on accident. Which was the second accidental find they've had since they started looking for lost loved ones. So had they dove on it for all we or they know they could have solved another case on accident had they looked. 🙂❤️ Their first accidental find was 3 years ago of the 12 year old missing person case of Timothy Robinson.

man, if the car wasn't their i would immediately go back to your roots and do what yall know works. it was something defiantly worth looking into cause of all the news about it. but if it's not there it's not there. also, a car that size still could be there with all the silt build up. it might be covered by now but it's too hard to tell with these things.

The atchafalaya (pronounced chaff-a-lie-a) is a major flood control tributary of the Mississippi River. It carries huge amounts of silt with it on its way to the Gulf. That Mia has long ago been buried. Your only hope is a powerful magnetometer and even with that, the likelihood of finding it is dim. Keep up the good work, what you and your team are doing is noble.
