There was a guy that met his "twin" on an airplane. Other than height & weight (both overweight but the taller one was also a bit bigger in the waist) the men were even close enough in age they looked identical in facial features & had the same auburn hair & beard. When they shared photos with everyone even their own families said they would confuse them if it was just a close up of the face. Also when I was in high school, during my senior year I met a guy that had been at a different school for his 1st 3 years. He kept insisting I was this girl he knew from one of his classes at the other school. Nope, I'd been in the same high school the whole time.

Actually aplogizing for a mistake is better than putting your feet into the ground and continue to fvck around. I don't care why he did it, but he apologized. That's a step-up. Not to mention that I can see why he got angry. The professor is a mad lad for getting it right so hard, but that picture is eerily similar. The other examples still had some differences, this was just an almost perfect duplicat. I'd be fvcking angry too, if I saw "myself" on such a weirdly specific study. This was the primary focus of the study. Essentially, when a group of people decide to define themselves as "the opposite of whatever the mainstream is", they end up synchronising each other almost by accident. The article gives a simple example: In most Anglosphere countries during the 2000s, a well-groomed professional man was one who was, more often than not, clean shaven. Hipsters observed this, wanting to still be generally well-groomed but rejecting the desire to look "professional", and ended up all growing thick beards... Which was then copied by *other people* in the 2010s, and now having a thick beard is now relatively acceptable, and hence having a beard is no longer an exclusively hipster trait. The article says that even though hipsters *then afterwards* differentiate between themselves by doing stuff like growing particular styles of beards, the models end up still being mostly accurate, since the smaller differences between hipsters are, generally, ignored by people who aren't hipsters. After all, "shaven" and "beard" is much easier to distinguish between "beard with a moustache" and "particularly thick goatee". Hence the current remaining stereotype that "hipsters grow thick beards".

You know that scene in Rick and Morty how he had a math equation to prove Morty and Summer were pieces of shit… This guy is the nice version of Rick. He literally proved, with math, hipsters are a joke and they shouldn’t be taken seriously. And one hipster did just that.

Some lawyers will tell you that you don't have a case and tell you to leave. Some who represent theirselves in the courtroom will have their case thrown out immediately. Most cases never really get that far and it's usually a baseless threat of legal action with no grounds. So nothing ever comes of it.

There's usually some misunderstanding like he wasn't suing bc he hated the study (tho he did) it was for using a picture of "himself" that they held no ownership to. Tho his case was flimsy even if it had been him.

You can sue for anything. But if the case isn't worth good money, then no lawyer will take it unless you pay them their hourly rate, or if they do take a worthless, but technically valid, case, then the plan is usually to sue a big company for a very small amount so it's cheapest for them to pay you than to pay their lawyers.

Honestly the best part about maturing past my teenage years has been finding comfort and joy in being normal or “basic.” There’s so much emphasis, especially in American culture, on individualism and striving to be different (read: better) from the rest. But that’s not feasible for everyone, and the mindset that you have to be different or better than others led me to disappointment and discontent with myself and my future. Finding yourself is creating contentment in the mundane while also finding little ways to feel special. For me, that’s been becoming a teacher. Maybe that’s a mundane job to many, but I make it special, make it my own, by adding my own spin to it and being the best damned teacher I can be.

People seem to confuse that he wasn't angry bacause the study was saying hipsters such as him( which we're not sure he even is one) all look the same, but that his photo ( which wasn't but looked very similar) was used without his consent. Maybe he wasn't even a hipster in the first place; just liked his beanie.
