I'm a guy I agree. Either hes not interested, playing games, has someone else, or just one of those flaky people who just aren't good at it. There's no point either way. There are obvious exceptions like work and other stressful problems he may be having but I personally have never ignored a woman even in in times of stress or super busy with work. I'll just say hey I'm really sorry I'm very busy or have something going on and won't be able to be as attentive for a while or whatever. Ill never just flat out ignore a girl I actually like. It takes 20 secs to write a message maybe after all. Some people though can be very needy though and want to talk to you all day when you are at work or something and its hard to accommodate that.

They often ignore the attentive reliable guy, always available, because hes "to easy" or seems desperate. Top tip- don't associate with people that play games! Respect yourself enough and set boundaries. Thank you! I have been through a lot. I just started dating in January. I was married for 12 years and with my husband 5 years before that but he passed away in 2014. Then I met someone and was in a solid relationship for 3 1/2 years but we parted ways because we wanted different things. So this is my first time dating since before 1997! I met what I thought was my soulmate type of guy Jan 31. For 3 weeks we were in sync! He called and texted all the time. He told me many times how amazing he thought I was and told me a couple of times how he was falling for me and that this thing was headed somewhere serious. I am normally very guarded and slow moving with new people but he made me feel comfortable and confident so I followed his lead! I didn't express the things that he did because I was cautious and I told him a few times that I was still trying to play it cool. This went on for 3 weeks! Then out of nowhere he got distant! I know he had personal things going on that he tried to keep from me. His ex had financial issues and he told me she had to file bankruptcy and he would have to pay more for their son for things but that was the extent. Then he said he had a bad day at work. I asked him what was up with him and he just told me he had a bad day but was very cold to me as if I was bothering him! The next morning he texted me and told me that I was great and didn't do anything wrong but this thing was moving way too fast and it was consuming. He also said this was just supposed to be fun but it was headed somewhere serious and he said I was pushing on the gas pedal too hard and had him on this pedestal that he felt he didn't deserve. Then he said he didn't know what he wanted. I was so upset. I never asked him for a commitment. I never asked where it was going because he is the one that said it was headed somewhere serious. I never told him I was in love or falling for him. It was very odd. My response to that text was that I didn't find it fair that he was blaming me for his work issues and that we both were moving fast and I was just following his lead and he never once said this was just a casual thing. He never responded. I tried many more times to talk to him. Over the course of 2 months I emailed and texted with no response. Some were angry messages and some were understanding. He never replied. Then I found out he also filed for bankruptcy so I reached out and told him I knew what was going on and if that is why he bailed, that is silly because that is his personal finances and not my concern. This time he replied and told me to stop trying to contact him! Now if he would have done that in the first place and was just honest with his reason for wanting out, I would have obliged. I just didn't understand. So after he said to stop contacting him in a cold demeanor, it triggered something in my head. I basically was done done done! He was not at all who he presented himself to be to me. At that point I was able to move on. Before that I would go on dates but I didn't take any of it seriously. I thought I was waiting for him. Now it is different. I am able to actually enjoy meeting people and there is one person that I am very interested in but I will take all of the above as learning and be more careful. So that is why I said, when a guy does those things, move on. Men are more complicated than we think. They put logic over emotion and women do the opposite. They will walk away from love if they have to if it is inconvenient. It isn't worth our sanity. I was a wreck for those 2 months thinking I did something because his text made it seem like I did. I know now that it wasn't me at all. I am back to being myself again but I am a little stronger than before. I hope this story will help you with your clients. Women should be careful not to get to wrapped up in things even if the guy is driving the bus that is moving so fast. Set boundaries and stick with them. Don't get to comfortable too early. Interesting. I fall into this category, guilty. I am in a long distant relationship. In the beginning I was the one who didn't text back. But as time went on I found myself texting him constantly. Now he verily answers. And when he does he verily says anything. He still claims he loves me, but I feel like he is just playing with me. I believe he wants to see me fall apart and then come in and tell me how he loves me only to start the cycle all over again. I've done this to people (I know it's bad and I try to be better) but I've only done this to those who I don't care about that much and I take for granted. That's how I know when somebody ignores me it's because they don't like me and don't believe I'll leave/don't care if I do leave.

Number 1 rule you send one message and if no response then just move on. I have a guy that keeps calling me and texting but I rarely respond. I do not want to hurt him but asked him to move on. He still bothers me and claims he wants marriage with me. He doe not even know me like that. He calls me selfish but eventually he will move on. NO reply is no reply. Thank him for not wasting your time be grateful some people spends years of their life and realize it was not meant to be.

Plus he is probably speaking to plenty other girls and so keeping you on the back burner as an option. My person does this too much and it’s exhausting. He would start with responding then stop. But will read my follow-ups. He knows what I wanted and rather than replying yes or no to my question (it was a request to meet-up) he chose to ignore me. So my *final text* was me *acknowledging his withdrawal* and told him that *I will give him space.* As soon as I sent that, he responded so fast. 💨 But now I’m really not interested in pulling teeth to get someone to respond. I have since left his message *unread* and will just move with occupying myself with other things.
