I know I'm late to the conversation but I've worked with John so allow me to explain. He is ALL about his audience. He is the MOST LOVED singer in Australia. He loves it when the crowd joins in, it fills him up. He has been singing for a long time (he was originally an apprentice plumber) his first song was a very cheesy song called "Sadie the Cleaning Lady' that he refuses to sing live. He has written so many great songs. He also was the lead singer of The Little River Band for a short time. He is now in his 70's and recently played with Brian May. I was at this concert and it was in 1988. He has one of the most down to earth singers and was offered to go overseas but he wanted to stay in Australia to keep the Aussie music alive. He has helped to make so many bands famous. I was blessed to sing with him and will always be thankful for what he did for me. He have even sang live, unrehearsed and unplanned, with Tom Jones. He's a true gentleman and an absolutely funny man. He will literally speak to anyone and truly cares about his fans, even to this day.

Imagine stopping one phrase into the song to complain that he gives the audience 3 lines before he absolutely kills it for the rest of the song. John Farnham is famous not just for his voice, but also for the way he cares about his audience, and loves to have them participate.

John Lennon contacted him and told him his version was how the Beatles wanted to record it but the record company would not let them record it as a ballad.

They are very young children clapping. John would love those kids clapping in or out of rhythm. John, been singing since 18. Last concert before covid he was 71 and still belted out without lowering a note. And yes you talk far too much during a song . They do more than clap and John does more than sing, he chats away, cracks jokes - and we who have seen him live - love it. He’s an entertainer not only a singer. I’m still listening to you talk as I type. John never listens to his own music either. Have a nice day 😊

God, this is the WORST review of any artist ever. The sound quality of the music video is terrible and PLEASE let the artist sing and perform the entire song. Those kids clapping were probably in the nose-bleed section & light travels faster than sound, so they were probably in-time for when they were hearing the song... (idk, maybe it was just because they were 11 years old)

Give him a break, dude - this is a brilliant version of “Help”, Lennon (you might get a kick out of Lennon’s “Mother”) & McCartney gave it a big thumbs up. This is 2nd encore after a 2 hour set.
