Just speculation, but since it's previously been established that Martha's cousin was one of the Torchwood London staff who died in the season 2 finale, Martha's mum could have been given a biased account of the Doctor's involvement in that incident to convince her that he's dangerous.

@therealpbristow8 күн бұрын
I've grown to not like him very much (for various reasons), but back in 2004 Mark's name being attached to the revival of "Doctor Who" gave me great hope: He was probably the most "famous" Classic Who fan, with serious critical acclaim already for his work in theatre and television, alongside his involvement in "Doctor Who" fan projects. Back then, it seemed like the whole BBC/TV "industry" was against the idea of ever reviving "Doctor Who", and anyone with any actual clout in the industry (such as Mark had) sticking up for our little show seemed like a ray of sunshine. In retrospect, I think RTD was wise to only commission Mark for one story per season. His was a name that got us old-school fans to believe that the revival wouldn't be an utter travesty; But in fact, Stephen Moffat's name (despite the controversial nature of his one and only contribution to the book series, and his utterly irreverant-but-still-actually-reverant charity skit) proved to be the one to watch.

It will be to get around BBC Copyright
@ptsteelers11 күн бұрын
@@KatieRuby But does that really matter? I'm sorry... first off, thanks for taking the time to explain :) I do see the transparency style in a few places, but most of the Dr Who reactions I see 'on the tubes' is opaque, but I may just be getting lucky and/or the reactors just haven't been "popped" yet :) I honestly didn't know that that helped with copyright, as I thought it was more a percentage of the show or movie being shown, but considering it is the BBC, there is probably more guidelines.. And hey, with that said - A) you know much more than I about the subject (and in general, I wager, hahaha) and B) I get it. If it works, you keep on keeping on!! Thanks again, and wishing you nothing but the best :)

Professor Lazarus is played by Mark Gatiss who does a lot of work on Doctor Who over the years. He’s written a number of episodes and of those you’ve seen already there were The Unquiet Dead (Charles Dickens episode) and Idiot’s Lantern (the TV stealing people’s faces episodes. As for playing Doctor Who characters besides Professor Lazarus he frequently voiced various characters in the Big Finish Doctor Who stories (basically audiobooks/audio plays that let various Doctor actors to continue to play The Doctor after their time on the show is done as well as telling stories about Companions and other supporting characters when the Doctor isn’t around)

That discussion of life and war between the Doctor and Lazarus in the cathedral is one of my favourites from Tennant's era. A man defying human nature trying to rationalise a longer life to a Time Lord who knows exactly why a longer life isn't always a good thing, it's a beautiful piece of writing with some absolutely golden lines. "Some people live more in 20 years than others do in 80. It's not the time that matters, it's the person". I like to think he was referring to Martha in that context, someone who's proven that statement true through her bravery, confidence, intelligence, and kindness.

Lazarus was the name of a Hebrew man who was raised from the dead by Jesus. It’s probably the most famous name associated with resurrection (other than Jesus), and a very recognizable name. It’s used a lot in fiction to describe rebirth, rejuvenation, and resurrection themes. For example, the Lazarus Pit in Batman comics.

Mark Gatiss is one fourth of the comedy troupe The League of Gentlemen and has been writing Doctor Who since 1992 when he wrote the eighth novel in the New Adventures called Nightshade. The wig he uses in this story comes from his LoG character veterinarian Doctor Chinnery. This story takes inspiration from the Fly and Spider-Man villains Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus specifically the 'mad scientist' aspect.

A theory worth committing for sure. Some good theories. XD Yep makeup removal, I mean younger, as alien scorpions.... but consequences by changing the possibilities. High frequency for sure, whether a dog or anything else unable to handle it, it makes sense. Yep DNA, people living longer and care for them longer/,less population or continued population hmm. Intuition needed for sure and doubt. Tish returns after being at Torchwood or was that Martha/Freyma. I think both were in that episode of last series. No idea tv shows/movies sure and the meaning is there for hair and other signals but real life no idea if accurate, probably people getting it from tv shows more then anything or attempting it. XD She finds her boss creepy prior then wants to once he gets her on the roof, what kind of flip flop mentality. XD It works for the script but is utter nonsense. Always blame Tish, of course the episode run time is too short, of course he wouldn't that easily from such a blast. Takes easy second hand information, whoever he is on behalf of well like Lazarus someone else hmm. Lot of fair designs for game creatures, the CGI is fair for this, didn't know of that boss don't really play Dark Souls (many others prefer them souls games) but they do have good creatures for sure. Energy to keep going , kind of feels like Tokyo Ghoul or any other sort of human feeding/adjusting/blending in. But of course yeah getting energy, changing rapidly., cells changing too quickly. Also the amount of closeness scenes, this doing it right now, still having the goal instead of making it a misunderstanding or some nonsense. No need to mention it but after seen some enough times the comparison does come to mind.
