Flash returns from the military, and everyone is telling him that upgrade Terran doesn't work againt Protoss anymore. Lesser players would accept it and learn the new meta. Flash was like, "I don't follow the meta, the meta follows me." Flash wants to do upgrade Terran, and by god, he's going to find a way to make it work.

I wonder why pros don't use the Illusion skill on the high templars. Its a super good ability that would let you overcome aerial defenses with ease. Imagine doing a reaver drop, but instead of 1 transport, you have 3. The illusions will soak up the missile fire and let the shuttle go into the base no problem. Also, imagine doing a zealot rush on the tanks. It will be a huge deal to have a couple of illusions go in front to soak up the tank fire, while the real zealots stay behind OR just go trough the minefield with them to bait the mines. Honestly i think its a very under used ability.

Storm is just way more valuable. Also, Hallucinations take double damage. Pros have the micro to quickly check which ones are the fakes by checking health.

It's because of opportunity cost. If you're trying to kill tanks, it's much more cost-efficient to spend 75 Energy to Storm a cluster of tanks than the 100 ENERGY to summon 2 Hallucinations that will melt like butter (no armor, take double damage, take full concussive/explosive damage). Not to mention, the time/resources required to even research the Hallucination spell. There are very very niche situations where Hallucinations can be more cost efficient than Storm, but those instances are so rare to the point that the risk of investing in Hallucinations is not worth forgoing such a powerful ability like Storm. Maybe if Hallucinations weren't made of paper, we could see a world where it's used more often, but that world doesn't exist.

Flash made some small adjustments that had big effects on his ability to respond, hild, and generate more value than a protoss up a base on him. Flash just wired differently.. so good

Well that's in no small part because of Flash himself. If he wanted to dispel the confusion he would. But he is hiding his identity under bar codes because he is not yet completely ready to declare where is current level is, and some amount of doubt about his identity is advantageous. Presumably he wants to train some more under semi-anonymity.

What a deadly move from Flash! Nice base trading ended up 3 vs 1. Many harassment between the 2 players. Flash defended his base pretty well earlier as well. With the 4 shuttles drop by earlier. Killed off nicely and cleanly.

I multiwatch these flash games. I mean back to back 5 times for a start. I enjoy the players who find their own way to win. The best to do it have been Flash and Boxer. And Artosis has an infectious love of the game. I very much enjoy these games and casts.

Cool set of 2 games. A slight tweak and Flash does a lot better. That said, I still feel like Dewalt should of taken that 5th nexus like Arty was suggesting. To the casual viewer like me, it looks like he was floating the minerals that may have done better as a 5th nexus on the way. Wish we could of seen how that plays out.

I absolutely agree with you artosis this is why someone like flash is the goat of StarCraft. he try’s every strategy possible and if something doesn’t work he makes the adjustment needed to make it work. That’s why he is so dangerous of a player he has no styles no crazy builds he just has his builds and he is smart enough and knows the game well enough to know what needs to be done to force a winning position in his favor. absolutely am enjoying the flash games don’t apologize for them I want as many as you can give me.

@22:20 This is my comment from the last video: I think Flash will eventually land on 5Fac insta 3rd and threaten the attack but take a turtled 4th if the push cant hit. If the ultimate goal is to do upgrade Terran to crush in the late game, the Defense needs to be impenetrable. It really seems like Terrans are being forced to both have enough muscle to push through a tech build and have enough to defend 3rd CC. Flash would have been able to hold it if he had walled the third and second. -> Wall across the top of the ramp with Bunker w/ bats and Barracks wall would hold the P back long enough for tanks to do work, and scvs can insta repair. The most powerful aspect of Terran that's under utilized is Repair. If it was a line of Rax or depots across the front for the price of 6 Vultures, you have a wall that can't be broken w/ scvs. Nobody does this, but I think Flash eventually will if he has to defend the onslaught of the P marco attacks to protect the upgrade engine. What does 'Fortress Macro Terran' look like? --- Which is exactly what Flash did on the next game. Fortified 3rd, early expo, 5 fac into 7fac for 4th. Zing.

The 6 o'clock base on Polypoid is just so advantageous for Terran. Yeah it's susceptible to pystorm, but for gateway units it's fucking impenetrable. The ramp choke is what? a goon and a zealot wide? Just slap a depot Infront that motherfucker, build a bunker that can shoot towards both ramps and helps protect the mineral line. Fill in the blanks with a few siege tanks and a goliath or two. Turret here, turret there. Such an easy turtled position. Should always be the 3rd CC. Also glad to see a Terran pro take his turret defense seriously, at times I feel like pros rely to heavily on their units to defend from mutas, or drops. Coming from playing zero clutter maps, static D was always first.

Only half way through the video yet so no clue who wins but dewalt seems to play much worse than the first game, so many mistakes.. idle workers, bad marine defense, rallying zealot into bunker, losing reaver early, rallying goons into tanks. Edit: Okay so he lost, honestly I'm not that surprised. Sure my examples above didn't make him lose but they clearly showed that he wasn't playing at 100%. It really felt like he was tired or distracted in this game. Would have loved to see both giving their ace game. Cool cast tho!

Dewalt crumbled from Flash's big attack. Think if he pulled all his units and converged from all around he could have crushed the tanks and been ahead. Instead he poked well defended areas and let his main section fight a losing battle. Before that I liked the poking damage he was doing, but seems like the "big push" always needs all hands on deck. Especially in SC1 where it takes longer to refill supply.
