@Wendy Black you can't take it with you. Probably haven't touched them in years and want to see the collection go while they are still this side of the lawn. He says he's "streamlining" and thinning out his collection to 100 guns, 50 guitars, and most of his cars/trucks that he uses . Some of it from the sale of specific items (including two guitars) is also going to his charity. He also says he has so many items, it is difficult to properly store, catalog, and maintain them (like the guns that need semi-regular cleaning and oiling to maintain in fireable condition).

Most of Ted's Byrdlands are very, very vintage from the 50s - 60s, many had Venetian cutaways. He Has only been playing for longer than you have been alive and has played the hell out of those guitars. Ted liked the trapezoid tailpieces to use as as a vibrato of sorts. Look into Ted's amps; it may surprise you. Buy yourself a Nugent Byrdland. The Les Paul CS acoustic I first saw 40 years ago is the prettiest guitar I have ever seen.

I can't lie though.I had my fare share of addiction problems.Now I am clean for 9 years going strong. Ted Nugent was the man.Iconic riffs and through the years he was a Gibson player 💯

Back in the late '70s Mr. Nugent was visiting Al Nalli Music in Ann Arbor while I was paying on a lay-away (25th Anniversary Strat). While he and everyone was outside shooting bows and arrows I was able to play one of his Byrdland guitars through a beat up Twin Reverb he'd brought to the store. Cool times. I would guess he's just making some room and doesn't really need the money. Considering how much gear and guitars I have after +45 years of playing I can only imagine how much gear a wealthy enthusiast would have, it's got to be staggering.

When Ted Nugent played at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology), came on stage and said, "I'm just gonna sing and jam Cuz you Canadians don't give a shit about American politics and consider most of it a colossal joke and don't get riled up about it. At least that's what Neil Young told me and that you folks care more about music than opinion anyway." I smuggled in a small moon cassette recorder, but then discovered that I forgot extra batteries so I only got about 20 minutes, yet it was in 1978 and his "Cat Scratch Fever Tour" and it was a pure jamfest.

I was a big fan as a kid. Still am of his playing for that matter. But anyway I ran into him at a show in Canada and after some condescending comments by him he gave me a pick. Then somehow he asked me to show a hunting license. Normally I have one so next year’s purchase is that much easier. Couldn’t find it. Anyway who is he to demand I produce this at a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert anyway?????So I can’t find it he says “Give me the pick back” “You’re gonna have to take it back” (he’s bigger he probably could’ve but I liked how it sounded” So I put my middle finger one inch from his face, called him a @#$&ing a##hole and walked away. Kept the pick. Lost the pick after a while. What a dick.
@markburrows1179
@markburrows1179 3 жыл бұрын
@@deanmccaskill5495 I grew up in Canada and owned an assortment of rifles and shotguns. I sold them after I got married, moved to a larger metropolitan area and started a family. I no longer had use for them because there was no place I could hunt that was specific for hunting which usually requires a guide who gets the permits and inspects the licenses and all in all it becomes both highly expensive and competitive as in having the latest and greatest hunting gear and apparel. What a crock! Game hunting is not supposed to be a fashion show. I grew up hunting on our own property or that of adjacent ranches, farms and homesteads in the Albertan foothills by joint permission and even by invitation from various indigenous reservations and thus we did not require a license. We hunted to fill our freezer, not for trophy kills. We were taught how to use everything and waste nothing. I never owned or had interest in a handgun as they serve a single purpose, the intent of fatal harm to another human being and any handgun that holds more than a single bullet is a weapon of mass destruction. Now I can still enjoy the music of Ted Nugent and not care about his activism. Besides, most activists 'act' the way they do just to rile folks up to get a knee jerk reaction, as your experience clearly indicated that you fell victim to. I would have replied, "I keep my papers at home where they can't be pickpocketed and abused, but it would be cool if you showed me yours." See I used papers, not license, and showed reason for not carrying such material around when I am clearly not packing. I would have diffused the situation and turned it around to having Ted being more consciously respectful and probably would have gotten another pick or autograph.

Story time! Before I got sick I was a stage manager for one of the largest Hard Rock casinos in the midwest for about 5 years, and we did Ted's show a couple of times. It's mandatory for any mega casino to have Ted because he is so entertaining, AND he was kind of a bargain (I can't tell you how much he makes because I don't really want to get sued). You Gen Z'ers and millenials don't realize how much the "mega Casino" craze saved SO many touring artists. Basically, it saved ALL of them who couldn't fill an arena, and then some. An example: I did Eddie Money once at a country club for like 5 grand in maybe 1995, well before all the casinos hit. But when the big Casinos came online they essentially quadrupled all these older acts' fees....amd saved them. Huey Lewis is another. And MANY more. Anyway, I saw a few of these auction axes on his tour.....I think. But the most unreal guitar I ever saw close up (by FAR) was Willie Nelson's "Trigger"- it was literally sitting ready to rock after check in its coffin case, sitting less than 12 inches from my face while I just stared at it for 15 minutes. And hell YES I got pics. I could have run off with it, but of course I'd have been instantly beaten to a pulp and lose my whole career. And besides, where would I sell it? Anyway, next to Bret Michaels "the Nuge" was always the most genuinely nice and intense performer we had. Bret was phenomenal as well- he and Ted were always nice dudes who weren't all wacked out on drugs, and their shows always sold out instantly. By this time there were no more flaming arrows or Tarzan gags happening, though. At least not for us. We had a ZERO Pyro policy ever since "the" big incident happened. BTW, "Boston" was always one wierd ass show- I had to TAPE over the air ducts in our #1 (star) dressing room for Tom Sholz because it was just "too loud" for him. (It wasn't). While Boston itself was strange, their show sounded PHENOMENAL and was always over the top with cool stuff, very well engineered and rock solid tight- and yes, SUPER loud. They always brought their own line array rig too, which required an extra two day nightmare to strike our house system (AND lighting), and then to reset the room back to stock. Then I understood why Tom was always in legal battles...he is a really hard core dude. They had their own chef too. But overall Boston (and Bret) was one of the best live sounding shows we regularly had. Bret was always 118 db at FOH, I kid you not. But our limit was 110, and I had the job of telling the mix engineer- to which he didn't even look at me. "Sorry boss" was then my answer back to a casino VP. I told him our Meyer rig could easily handle it. He said that wasn't his worry, it was the "whales" on the 5TH floor who were pissed. Hahaha! True stories....I have so many more....

I believe that the difference between the ES-336 (which I think sometimes was called the CS-336 because it was made in the Custom Shop) and the ES-339 is that the 339 follows the traditional ES-335 laminate construction whereas the ES-336/CS-336 is a carved/chambered out solid wood guitar with a solid cap. It’s like the distinction between the Les Paul Custom Florentine models and the ES Les Pauls.

Those first acoustics with the picture of Ted and signatures, are Savannah guitars. Cheap brand of guitar you can find on Walmarts web site. I own a parlor style Savannah guitar. I payed about $75. for it a few years ago on ebay. They are hit or miss like most foreign made guitars from China. I got a good one, then had one sent to my nephew in Texas and his had the fretboard hump at the sound hole. So be careful, it might be a wall-hanger. Cheers!
