F150 over Tundra anyday.I have a 19' F150 Lariat that is a notch below the King Ranch in options.Has the 3.5 Ecoboost. Truck has 120,000kms holding up real well.We tow with it regularly. Love it,love it,love it.The performance is incredible, tows like a diesel .

old king ranch leather was REAL leather, like a baseball glove, thick, tough, and smelled like real leather. not like cheap leather of today
@CanadianGearhead3 ай бұрын
Definitely a different feel but I would argue that coated leather is easier to take care of

This is old king ranch leather. That’s the old body style F-150 not the new one.

Having owned and built trucks from the big 3 and currently Toyota- Ford is the one I want to love the most but provided me the most trouble. I adore the f150 platform especially these king ranch trims.

If you drive a 3.5 stock with no lift and normal tires it’ll feel a lot quicker. I have a ‘22 super cab stx with the 3.5 and it’s a rocket.

I have to say it handled the extra weight of the 35s really well!

The F150 super crew actually has more legroom in the backseat than the tundra crewmax. 43.6” of rear legroom vs 41.6 on the tundra. Pretty sure the only full size truck with bigger backseat than the f150 is the Ram mega cab
@CanadianGearhead3 ай бұрын
I read somewhere that the Ford's seat is shorter which gives it that measurement but the actual rear of the cab is bigger on the Tundra. I should measure both trucks to find out
@tracecronk37273 ай бұрын
@@CanadianGearhead yeah might as well! I have a 22 f150 and my dad has a tundra crewmax. We both think my backseat feels more roomy but they’re really close. The main thing my dad complains about is the lack of power on the new tundra, he drives my 5.0 coyote and is jealous lol

Many many many many many...........................many years ago, I was shopping for a used van to tow with. I really like the look of older Ford vans BUT I did drive those things for work. They just had too many quirks about them, so, I ended up buying a used Chevy cargo van. I've put an additional 70K miles on it so far with only minor repairs. One plus about Chevy vehicles are that parts are pretty easy to come by anywhere. Ford, not so much because they kept changing mechanical things all the time. JMHO.

Yeah the GM trucks kept things pretty simple for a long time

We bought new 2011 tundra platinum in 2011 and no issues with the truck. It has 275k on it. Love tundra 5.7.

The 10R80's are junk (my opinion) the 10R140is in the same category, the get up and go is also dependent on gearing. Most of the 18-current F150's come with either 3.31 or 3.55s. Harder to move 35's with those stock gears compared to the 2014 F150 FX4 that I had. 3.73 6R80, the 3.5 ecoboost with the crew cab and 6.5' box. Best combination compared to the newer stuff, again my opinion. Coming from a Ford tech, if you like oil consumption and no real difference in power get the 5.0. If you plan on using an F150 as a work vehicle get the 3.5 ecoboost and avoid the 2.7.
@CanadianGearhead3 ай бұрын
Good info! His old 5.0 had oil consumption issues - he said they flashed the ECU and put a new dipstick in it lol
@galaxyphone77843 ай бұрын
Is the latest gen 5.0 still an oil drinker? Thought the 2.7 is the most reliable of the bunch...interesting to see so many different views...
@andrewseal5513 ай бұрын
@@CanadianGearhead yeah a silly tsb...also adding an extra litre of oil. I've got way too many of those trucks waiting to be done.
@andrewseal5513 ай бұрын
@@galaxyphone7784 the later 5ls like to consume oil. Ford allows 1l/1000km. The older 5ls had cylinder head issues. I have more experience with the 3.5s since there are very few 2.7s in my area. The 3.5s are my bread and butter.
@JJJ5.72 ай бұрын
You mention steering feels dead on center and changes. F150 has Adaptive Steering which changes the steering ratio. Probably what you're feeling. This truck is definitely faster than your 5.7. F150 interior is nicer. Towing capacity is better. Tundra resale and reliability is better.

Becusse you probably buy junk ones like wore out 6.0s 6.4s and 5.4s the old fords yes had a lot of junk ones but try a 2017-2024 Superduty they are great trucks most of the time go well over 200k miles with zero major issues since new.
