The reason why there are many Aegons in House is two fold. The first is that they are aptly named after the first Targaryen King Aegon the Conqueror. The second is drawing from real history where in medieval Europe such as in England, many kings would be named Charles or George or Phillip or Edward with Edward being the most common (8 of them)

@NerdishReact Rhaenrya was also being petty by naming her son Aegon. There are several other traditional Targaryen names. She could have named her son after Daemon or her grandfather Baelon or King Jahaerys.

Aegon is an important name because the dynasty was founded by Aegon the Conqueror.

We understand why it was important, but to use it so much in kids that are relatively close in age can bring confusion. It's more like our own personal preference tho, we know people still do it.

Viseris confuses Alicient with Emma to show that he still thinks of her. Just like he calls Rhaenyra his only child.

Rhaenyra has a much better relationship with her children and stepchildren than Alicent has with her children.

Absolutely, she is trying to be a good mom. No one has a parenting book so mistakes are obviously going to be made, but she loves them very much.

Remember grrm wrote got/hotd on real life medieval history so yes it is annoying or rather confusing as to why there are so many same names but that’s how it works they like the powerful figures names who they admired greatly in the history especially aegon the conqueror who will forever be remembered, it’s sad that viserys was in this condition and that despite everything he ran out of time before he really could’ve set things right in the past especially to his own family that he helped destroyed into the long run , I felt somewhat bad for daemon because even tho you hate him or is likable everyone had their mindset that he was no good to his brother or the crown when in reality viserys wasn’t like sir literally pushed away the very own person to tell him how it is without the need to manipulate him and was always supportive to wanting to make their house stronger than it ever was but viserys was just incompetent to actually deal with making the right decisions in general like remarrying and setting his daughter up with no winning chance of the realm to ever truly except her as heir based on her gender! Vaemond was hella dumb for that which I knew he was dead the moment he opened his mouth the entire time! People keep failing to understand that those boys were literally legitimize and openly acknowledge by their father laenor as his biological sons so he cannot take it back and you can’t prove that they are not his sons so they are not straightforward bastards and another example would be Cersei’s even though it was obvious but guess what Ned didn’t have no proof nor anyone didn’t seem to care because Robert acknowledged them as his own and he didn’t seem to care anyways to be a father to them lol which is why Joffrey was still put on the throne and everyone went along with it regardless but the difference is rhaenrya’s boys still have Targaryen blood and dragons that were born to them and their mother has a claim to the throne since she’s royalty while Cersei didn’t have a claim and none of her children had Baratheon blood but full Lannister blood , it’s sad that people don’t realize it doesn’t matter what rhaenrya does whether she makes the best moves or not since it was still gonna be a problem based on her gender for the greens who wants to keep upholding the patriarchy system by upholding male tradition but people keep thinking she had bastards which is why she’s getting undermined when that is completely not the point here! She was set up from the get go because her father was to stupid to realize by letting snake otto get in his ear then sway him with his daughter by having male heirs the realm would rather go to war instead of letting a women ascend the iron throne! That’s why she’s in a tough position caused by her father and Otto! Alicent once again indulging her terriable sons behavior of assaulting the maids was crazy and my heart broke for baby dyanna cause she deserved better and for greens Stan’s to excuse aegon’s rapey behavior is disgusting while victim blaming poor dyanna and many other girls who had that happen to them is mind blowing cause why didn’t alicent just end up removing all lady maids from working around aegon or replace them with male servents like come on the fact that alicent had a routine which means this isn’t the first time and should’ve done more than slap him smh , Viserys is terrible but one thing he did was show up for his daughter so I give him that while alicent and Otto was going against such matters that had nothing to do with them once again and got caught lmao the dinner scene was great and the only green I like is alicent’s sweet innocent daughter helaena who was force to marry her sicko brother aegon 😢 and the fact that Jace who’s rhaenrya’s eldest son was such a respectful gentlemen by asking his aunt helaena to dance which you see her be comfortable and smiling for the first time smh it goes to show the difference between alicent’s children and rhaeneya’s but of course generational beef has passed sadly so the boys were never gonna be cool with each other even if alicent and rhaenrya was to rekindle what they had 💀 if i was jace and musty rat aegon has the nerve to wanna talk to me about how sex works when i would’ve hit him with the “ tell me what does consent mean to you” 🙄🤭😬😭🤣💀 I get alicent misinterpreted the prophecy but there’s no way she truly believed that her meal worm of a husband who’s dosed up on milk of the poppy for years and does say random words from time to time actually changed his mind when hours ago he still defended his daughters claim as heir? Like come on alicent you know what…-lol I keep forgetting that it’s heavily ingrained in her to keep serving the terrible men even if it’s not right but she thinks that this is what her husband is telling her to do so she’s going along with it yet sadly viserys went out in peace while everything is going to shit now lmaooo , great reaction and discussion ladies!❤💖☺️🔥
