Yeah, brothers and sisters are a thing for Targaryens. Viserys and Daemon's parents were brother and sister. Even King Jaehaerys was married to his sister Alysanne.

Out of all the marriages in HOTD, in my opinion, there’s only one that they actually do really love each other and that’s Corlys & Rhenys(I think that’s how you spell her name). Usually they’re put together to consolidate power or maintain purity of bloodlines, or titles. Love has very little to do with it. Great reaction. 😊

On both Vhagar (Aemond's dragon now) and Seasmoke (Laenor's dragon), there are a lot of theories about "how dragons work" and few certainties. As we understood the lore at this point, dragons bond for life - usually the rider's since dragons can live for over 200 years - which is why Laena's bond was void but Laenor's still exists. Also on this point, the show explicitly telling us that it was a ruse and that Laenor is still alive is a departure from the original. It's something that the show has had to navigate because of how different it is from reading curated hearsay to watching the story unfold, sometimes being privy even to characters' inner thoughts. The source story is an interesting read because we're given contradicting tales all the time and it's left up in the air if any of them is the right version, so it's all one big Rorschach test.

That's so cool! So there isn't a certain rule to how dragons bond. It could also be that Seasmoke doesn't want to bond with anyone else, dragons con be quite unpredictable as well 🤔

People were mad at Aemond for riding Laena's dragon but few were mad at Rhaenrya for riding Laena's husband... To be clear, if Aemond "stole" Vhagar, the Laena "stole" her first. If it was about inheritance, Vhagar should have gone to the son of her previous rider. She should have gone to Viserys or Daemon. Likewise, Rhaenys shouldn't have Melys who was Daemon's mother's dragon.

Don't worry, it wasn't that obvious to the audience at the time either😂 When you check Daemon and Qarl's conversation, you understand the plan ("places that doesn't matter who a man is, only how much gold he posees"; "a quick death, one with witnesses"). And a quick clarification: Rhaena* (the little girl who doesn't have a dragon) cannot claim Laenor's dragon because the bond dragon/rider is for life. As long as Laenor is alive, his dragon cannot be claimed.

Maybe there's wiggle in that rule. Otherwise Laenor shoulda taken Seasmoke or it's a big neon *LAENOR LIVES* sign.
