A couple of seasons back I missed two does in decent light due to very small twigs poking up near the animal - they blended in with their fur. Arrow hit the twig and flew like a wiffle ball after that. Drat!

So glad you, Daniel, got a chance to hunt. Great job. Did you get tired saying " BPP Power line" ? I want to thank y'all for stressing scent control . I had a doe Saturday morning walk up to inside of 20ft. She didn't flag or scare just kept going over a berm . I was sitting on the ground against a telephone pole , eye level. I could see her eyelashes and whiskers.

Tim - He was likely gored or wounded during the rut. This is somewhat common as the rut is very tough on bucks.

Greg - Bucks lose about 30% of their weight during rut. Slick was certainly worn down.

@@GrowingDeerTV Oh I know, didn't mean that in a negative way. I'm just thinking that I probably misjudge many deer, especially those without history. I bought new land this year, had pictures of a real nice 9 point all year long, biggest oldest deer on the property, when I shot him November 19th, he was very thin. No doubt, he had lost a lot of weight. Great show, I learn something from every one of your episodes.
