I'm rebuilding my grandpas 97 c1500. He bought it new and it was his favourite truck ever with the same green and gold paint scheme. I sandblasted and painted the entire frame, belltech 5-7 drop kit and suspension and all sandblasted and powder coated. Everything accept the motor and trans is new and I have just started getting into upgrading the motor with all mds electrical parts. From here will continue to be a slow learning curve but it's a special build and the grandfather attachment is alot more than the truck will ever be. Look forward to when I pass it down to my daughter one day.

My son's 16 and we named his first truck Clifford. It's a 2000 Silverado with 5.3, Texas Speed Cam, fully built 4L60E. Sitting about 450hp. His is red though haha

I can NOT believe you’ve managed to keep that stock 10 bolt together 🤣 I have a 95 2wd stepside with a low compression (built for boost…when I get the $ to ProCharge it) 496ci big block making 525-550hp at the wheels na. I blew the diff apart 6 times (4 of those it tried to force the carrier through the cover breaking OFF the carrier bearing collar on the ring gear side) before a power adder. Low 7s on motor and deep into the 6s on nitrous BUT I have a 12 bolt from a square body in it now with full spool, 35 spline axles, and c-clip eliminators 💁🏻♂️ Speaking of, if/WHEN you upgrade a square body diff is exactly 1” narrower and you can buy the entire kit of what I just mentioned through Moser/Jegs for $675 and be just as strong as a 9”👌🏼 Love the truck!!

Sweet whip for sure!! I just wished more kids figured out that the original SBC platform will put perform the LS platform per dollar and it’s substantially stronger. If you run a 4&7 2&3 swap cam in the SBC it sounds like the LS engine that sounds like a SBF because they copied the firing order.
@kevinwest3689 Жыл бұрын
You should look into engine Masters and speed secrets. They don't just say stuff, they test stuff and prove it to find out. The results disagree with just about everything you said. I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I mean it in the nicest way, you should check it out, good stuff.
@RealSteelStreet4 ай бұрын
I’m an old school SBC guy and I can tell you that your assessment is completely wrong! Simply due to technology the LS is superior in literally every way…also, you can NOT make 1000hp + with a factory SBC for more than about 3 secs! lol Inch for inch the LS is KING (Coyote is right there with them…arguably even better 💁🏻♂️) and this all coming from a now big block guy.
@RealSteelStreet4 ай бұрын
Also, the SBC ‘sounds’ WAY better than an LS anyway…just can’t handle anywhere near the same power without an aftermarket block👌🏼

Absolutely, I think mostly because he is financially able to do this.. not only that but he sounds very knowledgeable, honest, and kept the truck alive. I’m currently doing the same thing with my dads 94 k1500. He passed away when I was seven and I finally own it. Although I plan to leave it mostly stock and just restore it.

Mitch are you still interested in sponsorships or has that door sort of closed? I’m 25....in a similar position you are in a lot of ways...minus the race car. Would love to chat but not sure how to go about getting in touch.
@Stapleton424 жыл бұрын
You can hire me for consultation on that topic
@markg14954 жыл бұрын
Stapleton42 okay well first, that would be real cool. But second, I was more asking if you’re still interested in sponsorship for yourself and the lsxscalade from other automotive brands that dont interfere with your current sponsorships. The “similar situation” comment has something to do with this, and I’ll shoot you a DM on insta to explain. Stay safe & God bless

Legitimate question here; Is anyone doing this kinda thing with an F150? How strong are the Ford front diff's.....say '92-'96?
