My my daughter got head lice 2x in a row I was told that it was because her hair was too clean and the critters could grab on to her hair shaft much better than if the hair was dirty. It made sense because my sons didn't get any. On that day, my only daughter, with her long jet-black silky hair, who until then was the little princess in my home, with her little red shiny shoes and beautiful dresses, got the okay to play play football with her brothers, and get dirty whenever she wanted to. Sometimes she played still in her red shiny shoes. ☺️ I would give anything to have those moments back.

Always used Tea tree Essential oil when the kids were little, & head lice were creeping round the school. 8-10 drops mixed in a tablespoon of any hair conditioner, rub into hair leave on for 15 minutes, rinse of, they couldn't grip the hairs after that. Made their heads smell like Vosene. Definitely use those fine toothed combs too. Thanks for sharing. Take care everybody. ❤️🙂🐶

Tea tree oil is a natural deterant to those nasty little critters. They don't like lavender as well. I would take a bottle of spray in conditioner (leave in) and add a few drops of tea tree oil, it would detangle the hair and repel lice in a few short sprays!

I learned this in the Middle East. Put one single drop of oil of rosemary on the person's head in the morning. Natural body heat disperses the oil through the scalp. Lice cannot produce eggs in that environment so within a few days the head is clear. This can also be used as a preventative measure.

I was infested pretty badly as a young girl on a couple of occasions. My mother would run a fine comb through my detangled, damp dried hair, after bath time, while making me sit on a white cotton sheet out in the sun. No combing required!!! I struggled with lice for months, refusing to use chemicals, finally found a tip online that said blow-dry your scalp until it’s hot daily for two weeks. It worked right away, but you do it 2 weeks to catch any missed eggs that hatch later. I have long fine hair that breaks easily so the combing was horrible. Can’t believe this info doesn’t get out better, it was really hard to find.

@ktg8670
@ktg8670 3 жыл бұрын
Try applying organic coconut oil or tea tree oil directly to scalp 1 to 2 times a week at least 20 minutes before your shampoo & conditioning process. Part your hair in small sections and apply...yet it isn't necessary to over saturate your scalp. You can still wash your hair daily or every other day even if you only use the oil once or twice a week. This has helped for people I know of various hair textures.

You can hire a person to comb out the nits and kill the live ones. So if you can't do it yourself, hire someone. There are companies who send lice pickers right to your home. @keschen1

Benzyl alcohol, conditioner and metal nit comb is the only thing that worked for us when we had a bad outbreak years ago. I tried everything then went to the doctor who prescribed a very expensive benzyl alcohol lotion. Couldn't afford to treat 5 people. So I looked at the ingredients and made my own with benzyl alcohol and conditioner cheap. Twice a week for a month and gone. Lice can stop breathing for hours so you can't drown them with oils. The alcohol forces them to breathe. Hard to comb long hair or dreads works great.
@hdd1977m7
@hdd1977m7 3 жыл бұрын
Olive oil somehow suffocates them. But it is true you have to keep it on for a few hours. The oil does not remove the nits so you need vinegar for that after washing the oil. Quite the process but not as damaging for the hair.

I appreciate your videos. Good job. I’m pretty sure the lice tend to crawl in the hair right near the scalp, and the hot water would burn the scalp. Maybe it would kill the nits that have grown away from the scalp, though. Schools often recommend the conditioner (EVOO would likely work) and comb method.

Our last round of dealing with lice, we did the tea tree oil drops mixed with shampoo, put a shower cap for about 15mins, then rinse, conditioner, & use the comb.

Is it good how to make coconut at home? The method I use is that I buy shredded coconut from the market, make coconut milk from it, then it cool down for 24 hours, and then put it in the frying pan at a high temperature until I extract the coconut oil. Is this way healthy when I fried it? And all?

Citricidal is good. It's grapefruit extract. Official studies recommend you mix it with baby shampoo. I use it neat but it is not recommended to do so!

Olive oil is only 3 % effective on lice. Mum used a mix of mint oil & Tea Tree oil on my little sibling’s hair, who caught it from nursery , it was super effective , more than ready lice killing sprays, yet mums have to be super carful that it doesn’t come to the child’s eyes. And it can create a dandruff prob if over used.

Fine toothed comb, repeat after 4days, repeat after 8days (repeat in case you miss just one) then comb check at least once a month, as the friend they got them from originally will give them back. I put the live ones I got off my children's hair AFTER commercial lice shampoo, into rubbing alcohol, and they were still alive the next day. The comb is your friend, best treatment by far.

Eww. I don’t hug people or let them hug me if they have kindergarten or high school children after a mother let her kid with lice come to our house without warning me and my parents at all. I don’t let kids hug me or come close. I don’t let strangers touch my hair Because if one of those ppl have rabies or lice they will never tell you to make you aware because their fee fees matter more than your well being. Ppl think I’m weird but I don’t care, one time a stranger asked if their kid can touch my hair because it’s so bouncy I told the parent to get lost Simply because of that reason. I also think homeschooling or if the kid wants to go to school then all tables should be 2 meters apart to avoid outbreaks, I hate it that everyone is so lenient about this and it’s no big deal to catch them.
