Shaving your head is a stress reliever that allows men to move on from the stressful years during their thinning process where they constantly worry about their appearance. The acceptance of a bald head displays a sense of confidence. Indulging in the comb-over, makes men look weak and lacking in confidence.

I shaved my head just today and so far the reactions I have been getting are different. Women seem to give me more second glances(that might just be the bald head) but still I feel the overall reactions have been positive. lastly it also inspires you to be leaner as you cannot hide a puffy face with a bald head so it is motivation to be better!

Man this is the most relatable video ever. You said all the things I've experienced over the past 5-6 years that other "pro-bald" channels never talk about. They act like you won't get these comments (usually from friends and family) but you will and it's nice to have something prepared to say before it happens because I know I didn't and I've learned how to deal with it over time. Through this whole period I've dated multiple people for either short or longterm fun and dating was never an issue like so many channels make it out to be.

Just did the same thing the other day my advice would be to put on some sunscreen (a lot and reapply often so you don’t burn the shit out of your head) and walk outside or just sit outside to even it out so it better matches your skin. This will take a few days to maybe even a 1-2 weeks depending on how fast you tan but will make it look much better.
@LakituKoopa Жыл бұрын
It takes some time to get used to it, most likely a week or two. About your white head: Let the sun shine a little on your scalp and it will adjust to the rest of your skin. And don't worry about your girlfriend and family. Your girlfriend loves you and will support you no matter what, with or without hair. And your family might comment on it for a moment but after a few days it will be old news too.

Great topic, I’m bald by choice and I believe shaving the head when you have plenty of hair brings on more opinions from others, especially from friends and family. I helped reduce the attention by getting a long buzz cut and taking it down shorter every week with a quality pair of clippers until I ran out of guards. Zero guard buzz cut and electric razor are great style options, I recommend the Head Blade for razor shaving. Just remember when you shave your head wear it with confidence that you made the decision to go smooth and that it looks great.

that is actually quite an interesting idea. I'm actually facing the problem that I shaved my head for a change but that my parents might make a big deal out of this when returning home from university next month on christmas. Might grow my hair back for this date so I have some short hair, they get used to it and from there I either keep it that short when beeing around them or go shorter and shorter within a specific time frame so in the end none of them will make a scene. Think it is worth a try, I really started to like the bald look and wearing it for a longer period without any drama would be nice.

First off GREAT VID!! Sorry this is so long, but I need to share for others on the fence! I'm in my mid 50's and have always looked 10+ years younger my entire life, my hair was always my identity. After I cut my hair down with a #1 guard (I like a lil stubble) 2 months ago and grew back my soul patch (I cant grow a full beard LOL) and without ever watching this video I actually did some of the things you recommended here on my own. Only 1 buddy looked at me at a car show where we were chilling with our classics and he said, "Hey Moe, whoop whoop!" a Three Stooges reference. I laughed harder than him and did the Curly dance for a second and it literally took the wind out of his sails. Then everyone started callin' me the white cholo I soon realized that this was actually a complement. Later other people were saying, "damn dude, you look even younger now and like a bad ass to boot. You should have done this years ago." Shaving my head was the best thing I've ever done, I get so many complements in my professional life as well (Outside sales rep) it feels great! Any account that hasn't seen me yet, I just walk in and own it! I don't shy from it at all. Straight up Peacock walkin' like its always been that way. I watch their eyes too, they don't seem to stare or try to take quick glimpses at all.

Another tip I thought of right now: When it's done, take a selfie and post on your Facebook page... with a wide smile on your lips. When you then meet the people you've been nervous to meet, your transformation will be 'old news' to many. It will cut down the 'instinctive temptation' to comment... and the wide smile they saw has told them how happy you are with it, so also that will already have told them that joking or critcizing is a waste of energy.
@MrSweck712 жыл бұрын
Tip 2 to complete with this: IF you get a comment there that you find insolent... reply (early) with "You're too late. I have already chosen which type of comments will bounce off." It sounds merely like a counter joke from your side, but the message in it is still clear... and everyone after him will read their comments twice before posting. 😁 I did this yesterday after shaving off mine but I know that my (bald) colleague is the kind of guy who thinks everything is appreciated as long as he's the one saying it, so I expected something stupid from him and even shared the link in a private message, to give him the chance to "reply in the dark". But he still wanted everyone to see his rude reply so I instantly countered with this... and now, being alone among the nicer comments from others (together with the looong list of likes), he just looks stupid. It even became so apparent to himself that he felt the need to try to paint over it with a nicer comment below it (which now just makes him look even more stupid). 🤣

I have a story that shows how people notice your appearance less than you realize. I've been razor shaving for about 25 years with a small gap a few years back, so everyone at my current gym knows me as being razor shaved. I decided to try a mohawk, not a wild punk mohawk, but more like a narrow buzzcut that goes down the back with razor shaved sides. My head had gone uncut for about a month to grow out hair for the look, and a guy I frequently chat with at the gym gave me a bit of a look and said "did you get a haircut?" His girlfriend laughed because sge realized what he did, and I said no, I did the exact opposite but I would be getting a haircut in a couple days. When I did get the hawk he noticed right away, and I have to say I think it's a keeper.

Thanks for the great ideas! Some of them I had already thought of but others I really wish I’d had in my arsenal to respond to people. My parents hated my shaved head - but then finally said she kind of liked it. Another woman who’d known me a long time just couldn’t let it go she hated it so much. But that’s the worst I’ve ever had. One of the most affirming things was to go out in public with people who don’t know you. I don’t remember noticing bd reactions - except for a few who look at your head instead of making eye contact. Sometimes I make a joke - about no bad hair days- the usual. Also when people are discussing their hair problems - I’ll say- I hate it when that happens - or - I washed it and can’t do a thing with it- or say - yep, it’s nice not to have that problem! I especially liked - you oughta see what else I’ve shaved!!!! Thanks!!

I am the same exact age and in same situation. I can’t grow a strong beard either. I have shaved my hair off completely for like 6 years. Sometimes ive let it grow for couple of months though. Ive noticed that if you are calm and confident, people don’t genuinely care at all. All the negative stuff is in your own head. If your skin tone is light like mine, the sun part is pretty important. My head tends to look pale as a ghost. Some people tell you to hit the gym but that’s not necessary in my opinion. If you are in somewhat good shape. It’s going to be fine. I used to be overweight, when I managed to lose that extra weight, the shaved head looks and feels good. Sure when it comes to dating and stuff, bald is not everyones cup of tea. But some people actually even prefer it. I used to have very long hair so I understand how hard it can be to accept and deal with. In the end of the day it’s nothing that serious and there are other more important things to focus on.

As it got worse (in my mid 30s) I trimmed it shorter and shorter and eventualy shaved it clean. Now the laughs are no longer heard. I am refered as the bald guy, which is not bad, cause I am noticable. Many comment I've got good head shape (and maybe fear they will lose their hair soon and wonder how will theirs look). Further more, thee fact I rub some fine smelling cream at my baldhead every morning puts a smile on my face. At the end of a day if this bothering you so much hair transplant became affordable to a large majority of people. Not for me. Bald guys, find some other way to look good. do have to whear sunscreen on the bald head??
@GregBoswell4282 жыл бұрын
I really depends. Most of the time I wear some kind of a cap or hat. But If I know that I’ll be in the sun for a considerable length of time without one, I’ll apply sunscreen. I really should use it more often.

They don't know how to react because their are surprised. And what is the natural behavior if you are surprised in a good way? Laughing. Most people who will laugh don't do it to mock you, but simply because they are surprised. Nothing wrong with that. (I'm shaving my head during the summer months because I dislike having sweaty hair ^^)

My experience shows that the criticism comes from jealousy. Shaved head and beard. Also apologize to em for not having a woman that wont let them be a man.

Anyone commenting or judging aloud any part of your physical appearance should simply be met with “Thanks for the unsolicited commentary/advice. I do prefer emails though sooooo…….” - if they continue actually give them your email address - “I will look out for your mail. Take care now”.

Man how pathetic does someone’s life have to be to throw shade for a bald head? 🤣 I think it looks great. It’s neat and tidy, and its masculine. And here in Australia it helps let the heat out a bit 👌🏻

It's funny at first, but remember that your skin tone will be alot fairer, until suntanned the same as your face tone. Also people tend to be less harassing. They think you psycho. Women love to rub it. Rub them back. Have a nice smile
