I have the custom trail boss with the 6.2 engine and a lot of the features you said weren’t available on the custom my truck has 1. I have the button to turn off the start stop 2. I have the radio controls on the steering wheel along with the color driver info screen 3. My rear seat has the storage compartments in the back of seat

My only gripe with my lt trail boss is not having the keyless entry on all 4 doors and no power passenger seat.I mean I spent 54,000 on a new truck I feel they should be standard on the higher model. Other than that I love it!

The LT looks sharp but from my experience less is sometimes more. The Custom has everything you could possibly need. If you're more worried about fancy lights, sound systems and interior chrome trim then maybe you shouldn't be driving a truck. Those are nice things to have but they don't effect how the truck performs. One more thing to keep in mind is that during the microchip shortage with these AFM/DFM systems, GM decided to go ahead and release the 2021 Custom Trail Boss 5.3L V8 manufactured after March without that AFM/DFM software because it's a lower trim model. I personally would prefer not to have the AFM/DFM . If I had to choose between having a Bose Stereo System, fancy lights, bowtie grill, 10 speed transmission etc.... or have a truck without the AFM/DFM, I would not hesitate and pick the truck without AFM/DFM. LT Trail Boss is very nice and the extra options aren't necessarily convenient but more so excessive. Both are very nice trucks. I had the pleasure of test driving both. The 10 speed on the LT Trail Boss was my favorite function. Very smooth. I had to keep checking the speedometer because it's easy to speed in vehicle when you can't feel it shifting up or down. The 5.3L and 6 speed in the Custom pair very nicely. Not clunky at all. I like to feel a little of that shifting but retain a smooth shift, so the 6 speed works best for me. I bought the 2021 Custom with only 26k miles, even though it was a little more expensive than the 2020 LT which had 30k more miles. I don't regret my purchase. The LT's 10 speed was by far the best attribute IMHO but as I said before.... Less is sometimes more. Less things to go wrong and cheaper to fix.

It is an option on the Custom to get the rear seat arm rest, its called the cloth rear seat with storage package.

Unless it's changed for 2021, the 6.2 comes with the 2 speed transfer case when equipped with the Z71 package, just like the other engines.

Was just a mistake in how i was trying to explain it.. you are 100% correct.. BOTH Trailboss’ come standard with the 2-speed transfer case. Any other Silverado you need Z71 or, as you said, the 6.2L .. Surprised someone caught my mistake so soon haha

For 2021 you can now have the radio controls on the steering wheel of the Custom (Option). Also, it was interesting to see the Custom has a flat back seat floor, opposed to the LT w/the storage. I would almost prefer to have the flat floor as an option on the LT, as not everyone wants that storage area..

2022 Custom Trail Boss I like the Front End better and the option for the 6th passenger just in case the oldest two kids come back to the nest. Need 6 for 4 kids and wife although Fingers crossed 3rd one a couple of years from hitting the bricks :) Only one left. That and 15k on savings total prices and 160ish per month on payments. I'm getting a refresh model with the blue like the ZR2 so I can pretend I'm in the high end truck other than the new 13 inch console. Which is nice but seeing I haven't seen one in person I really don't know what I'm missing and hopefully by time new vehicle time comes around in 4 or 5 years It'll be standard in the custom.

I thought the turn signals even on the led headlights were still halogen. Only when you get the high intensity led headlights you get led turn signals. Correct me of I’m wrong please.

I confirmed that with the LT you can in facet get a bench seat. Not sure if it's cloth specific, but I just ordered mine with one.

I have a GMC Sierra and would choose the GMC for the 1 speed transmission. The 8 speed had too many issues. If I could get a Chevy with the 10 speed tranny, I’d go with the Chevy.

I don't know for sure but I've been playing on the chevy website on building a truck. Trail bosses don't have the snow plow prep packages. But the base trims do.

You can install LED lights easily but the halogens are the brightest halogens I've ever seen I feel no need to have leds on mine

People who haul stuff in the bed more than people in the back seat. I'd rather have the extra length in the bed vs the rear cab as I'm driving alone in the truck 99% of the time. I also think the double cab has a more balanced look than the crew cab. But like everything else in this world, it's personal preference.

@@BabyMamaMaker I just picked up my new Custom Trail Boss in a Crew Cab, couldn't find what I wanted in a double cab. That back seat area is HUGE! I can't believe how much stuff I can put back there. I'm actually glad now that I have the Crew Cab even though I'm still in the truck 95% of the time by myself, but at least now when I have adult size passengers they aren't cramped back there. I'm also finding that a lot of the stuff I had in the bed before is perfectly fine in the back seat area, actually a little more secured back there vs. under the soft tonneau cover. I'm always afraid of someone slitting open my tonneau cover, when now I can leave the tonneau cover rolled back a good part of the time so folks can see there is nothing of value back there.
